Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Monsters & Memories (image above) gives an update on its development, the Wardens and Colonials go to war on Able, and Eternal Tombs teases its magic system. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Anvil Empires

Anvil Empires continues its Pre-Alpha phase with its latest Minor Test that ran Jan 10-14. If you are interested in participating in future tests, you can request access on Steam. The devs usually have a new blog post when a test period rolls around, and this week was no different. Devblog 8 covers Points of Interest, Seasons, weather events, and the workbench redesign.

BitCraft

BitCraft shared two model reworks this week, the tanning tub and rock grinder.

Book of Travels

Book of Travels had its first update of the new year this week. Update 0.46.4 was a small patch that added a handful of new and updated events along with a few bugs.

Broken Ranks

Broken Ranks’ free content update, Shadow of Hope, is set to release on January 25th.

Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore

The Blankhans merch store is now open. Show your support for Coreborn by picking up a T-shirt, hoodie, or other apparel.

Dreamworld

With Weekly Development #139, Dreamworld has opened up its infinite procedurally generated world for exploration. There is 12-hour video that tests the claim of an infinite world. Although most of the video is just a character flying in one direction, there are a couple of points where they land to check out a biome or two.

Eternal Tombs

Triune Studios posted a new video this week that teases the magic system in Eternal Tombs. There isn’t really a lot of meat to the video, which only shows off the visual effects of a few spells, so don’t go in expecting a deep dive into the magic system characters will be using in-game.

Farwoods

Blacksmithing and Woodworking received major overhauls this week.

Foxhole

A new year means a new war for ABLE server. War 110 went live on Wednesday, January 10th.

Grudge

We’re always looking for new indie MMOs, and Grudge is our first addition to the IMS for 2024. Grudge was created by a solo developer, Scorge_, and the sandbox MMO blends multiple genres and types of gameplay into a single world. I haven’t personally checked out Grudge yet, but it can currently be found on Steam. Let us know in the comments below if you check this out.

Monsters & Memories

Dev Update 38 is out and gets us up to speed on the progress made during November and December.

Project F4E

Project F4E will be holding a stability test on January 18, from 10am to noon EST. You can fill out this form if you are interested in participating.

Prosperous Universe

The team is back from vacation, and Michi wishes everyone a Happy New Year in Development Log #416.

Ravendawn

Ravendawn is still set to launch on January 16th. A Tavern TIme was held on Saturday to livestream the launch teaser and serve as an FAQ session. (This actually takes place after I submit the column, so I don’t know what was covered at the time of writing. Hopefully, we will have a link to the YouTube or Twitch VOD by the time this goes live.)

Realm of the Mad God

Season 11 of Realm of the Mad God is underway! Update 4.1.2.0 brings with it a new battle pass, a new Mission Tree, and new Crucible Modifiers.

Scars of Honor

With the Scars of Honor Kickstarter rapidly approaching, the team has begun showcasing the different Kickstarter tiers on their Discord server.

Wild Terra 2: New Lands

Update 2.2.360 is live. The ability to set waypoints is the big item on the changelog along with some other QoL updates.
