I Have Questions!

Many of us have been waiting for Guild Wars 2 for a couple of years, and the BWEs were a real treat to assure us that everything we’ve heard about this game is true.  At least… from what we can tell so far it is.  We have had the chance to see what I consider to be just the start of the game.  There’s so much content that I have had to play nonstop, and use every BWE to explore new areas.  It took nearly every single one to explore every map they opened up to us.  But even after finally seeing the game, there are still many questions.

THE SMARTPHONE APP

We’ve been given a lot of information about Guild Wars 2, including a unique app that will help expand the experience beyond your computer.  From what we know so far, the app will allow us to see where our friends are in the game, and communicate with them as well.  We will also have the ability to sell and trade through the Black Lion Trading Company, the in-game auction house.  Beyond this we don’t know much more.  We don’t even know if it will be available during the game’s release. I’m not surprised that ArenaNet didn’t show this off during any of the betas, but I was really hoping to get a taste for it.  Still, I can’t wait to see how this will link in with the game.

MORE MAP TO COME?

I don’t know about you, but I think the size of the exporable maps is massive.  It took some time for me to get around them to see all the sights and events they offered, and there are still so many maps that we haven’t had access to.  I would often look at the world map to see where I’ve been, and wonder where else I could possibly go.  How much of the world will we get to explore?  Will we get to travel to other continents in the future?  Is the world map we’ve been shown really the final world map?  It seems like we will know the answer come release, but for now it’s fun to think about.

Even the dark depths of the seas hide many treasures, and dangers.

LIVE EVENTS AFTER LAUNCH?

During one BWE, players in a certain PvE area would be pitted against each other.  Large dynamic events occurred, transforming players into creatures with a sole purpose to spread corruption.  This was a really neat event that offered a nice break from what you would normally be doing, and bring more depth to the world.  Ever since I played this event, I’ve been wondering if this will happen during launch.  Will these events take place in the final version of the game, how often will they occur, and what other neat ideas will ArenaNet incorporate into these shindigs?

ENOUGH POLISH?

During every Beta for nearly every game, you’re going to have some players having technical issues while playing the game. Even with some of the higher end machines, frame rates dropped and the forums flooded with concerned players.  The good news is that it was just a beta, so the final product should run smooth.  But you still have to wonder, does ArenaNet have the answers to fix these issues?

I'd have to say this is my favorite out of all the ending beta events.

MORE TENGU?

Now, some of these questions will be answered when the game comes out.  But one being asked by players won’t be answered till further down the road.  Whenever a player saw the Tengu during the BWE, they began asking if they would ever become a playable race.  When it was announced that new races would be playable in Guild Wars 2, I think many of us were excited, but also really surprised.  I wouldn’t be too shocked if the Tengu take a larger part in the world, but will they become a playable race?  It will be awhile until we get the answer to that.

From unique PvP dynamic events, to the unexplored areas of Tyria, there are still a lot of questions that are unanswered.  But we don’t have to wait too much longer.  The countdown to the release of Guild Wars 2 is nearly over.  Wow, it is really weird just thinking that.  But it’s true; soon we’ll all be playing for real.  Until then, it’s fun to think of the possibilities and ponder some answers to these questions.
