Everything You Need to Know About Dragon Bones

The first DLC of 2018 is upon us and it’s name is Elder Scrolls Online: Dragon Bones. (Not John Cena) and it’s a bag full of sweet, delicious goodies. I will be going over some of the major things coming in this DLC and giving my opinion on them and what I also expect from this DLC.  Two new Dungeons will be released with this DLC: Scalecaller Peak and Fang Lair. They will both be available in Normal and Veteran modes. With these new dungeons there will be new loot, achievements and collectibles to obtain. Which is great for us completionists. I’m hoping these dungeons will add some sort of challenge and we won’t be able to blow through these too easily.

The long-awaited appearance update is coming with this DLC as well. This will be for the base game and not limited to the people who are members or own the DLC. The gist of this, is that we are getting more control over how our characters look, despite what kind of armor we are wearing. I will be waiting to see the PTS to see how this is going to implemented. I always worry about them using the Crown Store for these type of things, but we will all have one outfit we can customize with gold apparently. Again, I’m awaiting the PTS which should be next Monday to see how they implement this. Fingers crossed. I honestly hope they don’t charge an arm and a leg to be able to do this multiple times. ZoS hasn’t been too greedy in the past, let’s see if that keeps up.

Combat improvements are happening too. They didn’t go into much detail about how this is going to happen but they promised a lot of changes and this is something again I will have to test out in the PTS. I’m crossing my fingers on this, even though I enjoy Elder Scrolls Online combat, I know a lot of people want improvements to happen and it looks like they are getting their wish granted with this update. Let’s just hope they don’t break what already works. The exact details should be revealed with the PTS.

For the newbies out there, they are getting two advisors to help them out: a Level Up Advisor and Skills Advisor. The Skills Advisor will pretty much tell you what skills and passives are needed for a certain build you are trying to obtain. I think this is going to help a lot of newbies and maybe some veterans because even though you can reset, no one wants to do that and it’s better to do it right the first time and save some of the Gold or Crowns, depending on which way you choose to reset. I’m going to try this out for myself and see how well it helps out or doesn’t.

The Level Up Advisor gives you bonuses each time you level up. Milestones will grant you Loot Crates and other levels will grant you various other rewards. Again these I think more are for new players rather than veterans of the game. Helping players out with stat and skill allocation will allow for less punishment in the character development phase. Although this game doesn’t punish you as much as other games does or could, this will help new players out tremendously I think. Also, it gives you more incentive to level, which we all need at times.

Two new Battlegrounds are coming as well and it is to be noted that to be able to play these you will need Morrowind. Kinda sucks but I mean it is what it is. You can find Morrowind on sale these days and probably pick it up way cheaper now. If you haven’t picked up Morrowind, I highly suggest you do. It is well worth the money, despite how I feel about the Warden. *Grumble grumble*

Mor Khazgur from Skyrim is making an appearance to the game and even though I didn’t play much of Skyrim, new PVP is new PVP, right?

Housing players are getting a much needed update as well. Although I do not dabble in housing as much as I would like, I did always want the ability to store items within my house and now we can. I think we can all agree that this should have been implemented when housing arrived, but better late than never.

A lot of this content I am going have to test out on PTS and see how it's implemented. When the PTS comes out on Monday, I will be doing a follow-up to report all about the changes to combat and the new appearance settings. What do you guys think about all of the changes? How do you feel about the Advisors and the upcoming changes to combat and appearance? I’m super excited and nervous about these upcoming combat changes.

Is there anything you are most excited for? Is there any specific combat changes you all are looking for? Do you think the Advisors are needed? Tell us what you think in the comments below!
