My.com has announced that it will be sunsetting Cloud Pirates on September 29th. There is no definitive word on why the game is closing, but it is safe to assume that it simply did not catch on as the company had hoped.
Cloud Pirates has been updated with the Burning Tide patch that brings a number of new features and improvements to the game. Most notably, players will have a new map to sail through called Cursed Treasure Canyon and a new game mode called Moving Control Point Capture. In addition, first mates have been added to assist new players with helpful commentary during the earliest stages of the game.

My.com and The Allods Team have announced that Cloud Pirates will be ready to take flight into Steam Early Access on February 9th. EA will launch with a new game mode called Gold Rush that will see players looking for 'meteor ore', a special resource.
My.com has announced that the third closed beta for Cloud Pirates will run through January 2nd. During the event, players will be able to check out additional Captain Progress and more ship customization options. My.com has announced that the second closed beta test for Cloud Pirates will begin on november 23rd. Closed Beta 2 will come packed with twelve new ships to try out and a chance to test the Captain Progression system to level 10 that unlocks special abilities.
