The City of Heroes forum has been updated with a post to provide players with details of the Memorial Day Event that also happens to be the "first large-scale event". Players will want to log in on May 27th between the hours of 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm Pacific / 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Eastern to take part. The party starts in Statesman Plaza, Kallisti Wharf with a giant costume contest before Giant Monsters, Arch-Villains and Heroes are spawned in the game.

And for our grand finale, Rigo has challenged me, Jimmy, to a duel. By popular demand, we will both be creating special-purpose, brokenly overpowered GM characters, and then facing off against each other in the Arena.
As this is the first of its kind event, players should expect anything and everything. "The zones may crash. Whole shards may crash. This is very much a trial by fire for us as far as running events goes."

- several new Community Reps have been brought on board
- inactive character names will be released according to their level and their last activity
- multiboxing will be allowed, but only if they "don't have an overly large impact on other players by over-using server resources -- there are a number of "rules" that you'll want to check out
