City of Heroes goes free-to-play today with the launch of City of Heroes: Freedom.
Paragon Studios and the City of Heroes dev team have announced that the process has started to reactivate all retired accounts prior to the launch of the Freedom iteration of the game.
Paragon Studios and the City of Heroes team have announced that current subscribers will be able to log in and try out the City of Heroes: Freedom iteration of the game beginning Tuesday, September 13th.
The Paragon Studios team is hard at work preparing for City of Heroes Freedom, the F2P edition of the game set to go live soon. One way to get players excited about Freedom is by revealing some of the gear that devs are designing, refining and finalizing and that will be available in the Paragon Market. First up is the Beam Rifle power set.
Paragon Studios and NCSoft have announced that a new "Declaration of Freedom" promotion is now live. The City of Heroes game client is on sale for $1.99 from now through August 29th. In addition, the team announced that all new subscribers will be given 400 Paragon Points per month between now and when the CoH Freedom, the free-to-play version of the game, goes live in late 2011. Players can use points to purchase items in the shop.
Excited for the Time Manipulation Power Set to come your way in City of Heroes? Then it seems that this piece of news is most definitely for you! Over at the Official City of Heroes Website, the latest Intrepid Informer (Issue #9) details and outlines the details behind the new power set.
Folks looking to get a head start look at the City of Heroes Freedom F2P edition of the game and at new features coming with Issue 21 will want to check out the VIP Beta that is scheduled to launch later today in North America and on August 10th in Europe. The team has posted detailed instructions about installing the beta client and much more.
