Cryptic Studios Unveils Serpent Lantern Mini-Site -

Cryptic Studios have unveiled the mini-site for "The Serpent Lantern," an upcoming adventure pack for Champions Online centered around the familiar VIPER villain group, who are seeking to capture an ancient artifact known as the "Serpent Lantern."

For the unfamiliar, adventure packs are "great big story arcs, with new missions, locations and bosses."  Adventure packs also scale to levels and group size, allowing for anyone level 11 and above to take part in the fun.

For the Serpent Lantern in particular, the VIPER enemy group will see many changes, making for more challenging fights when it comes to the groups existing roster of baddies, and even includes a number of new additions such as the Serpent Mages, Draconis, and Viperia. As far as locales go, players will be able to explore VIPER's vast network of bases, including the Serpent Caves and the Temple of Nama.

Rounding things out, Serpent Lantern will also bring a trio of new perks and action figures, and a whole suite of VIPER themed costume parts.

The launch of the Serpent Lantern adventure pack next month will mark the introduction of additional new features and tweaks to Champions Online as well, including a new difficulty slider, the removal of the Perk Store (you'll get your perks automatically now!), Veteran Rewards, the Tesla Coil costume pack in the C-Store, and of course the aforementioned VIPER revamp.

A number of screenshots and a new trailer are also available. Check out the screenshots in our Champions Online gallery and click the image above or go here to watch the new trailer!

The Serpent Lantern is set to slither onto live servers this June, check out the mini-site here.
