The Camelot Unchained team will be on hand at this weekend's Dragon Con to show off the new procedurally generated terrain system that is now in deployment on the Hatchery server. Calling it a "game-changing event for the team, game and our Backers", attendees will be able to get a first hand look and Beta 1 players will have an opportunity to check it out for themselves and report their feedback.

What you should expect: 1) Bugs - This is both cutting-edge tech and really new tech. Expect problems. 2) Lower FPS on some machines. Again, this is really new tech. 3) Graphical glitches, artifacts, etc. 4) Getting stuck under the terrain and/or in weird places. If you find yourself under the terrain, stuck, etc., simply use /stuck to get out of that situation. 5) Nvidia users will see improved, softer edges and overall transparency improvements to items like tree leaves and branches or grass cards unfortunately, AMD users will see a subtle cross-hatch pattern with many very small holes in those same assets with transparency. This is most obvious problem is looking at grass cards up close. We hope to have this fixed tonight or tomorrow. It was important that for Dragon Con that our build ran as well as possible on our Nvidia-based machine. Again, this should be resolved tonight or tomorrow but AMD users will see more issues. 6) Improved sound, music and effects. Use SHIFT ENTER STORMSTATE 1 and see what happens. Also, check out the new torch.

So, please jump on to Hatchery now, later, etc. to see how things go for you. If/when you have problems, we'll have an thread in our Alpha section for discussion of these problems. During the last test we were filming some videos for Dragon Con and afterward and, if things go well, we'll do more of that later. If you do ask for your help during the video, please help out or simple let us record what is happening.
