The Friday update for Camelot Unchained has been published on the official site. Among other things, a short video from the current build that features a look at the destruction system has been released (see it here).

The Camelot Unchained site has been updated with the news that a special IT testing event is ongoing through today, Saturday, May 16th that, if successful, could lead to another beta-backer event later this month. The current IT event is open to IT and alpha testers.

The latest Camelot Unchained newsletter has been unleashed that gives fans and backers some news about the game over the last week. Of particular note is the passing of the latest stretch goal that will bring new programmers to the team to assist with development. In addition, a brand new wiki has been opened that will be filled by the Camelot Unchained community.

The Camelot Unchained team has announced that it will be opening the server for alpha testers to participate in a special 24-hour session. The special event will take place on Saturday, April 18th through Sunday, April 19th.

The latest Camelot Unchained update has been posted and it contains a bunch of nuggets of information to bring fans up to speed since the last update at the end of March.

In a surprise announcement on the Camelot Unchained Facebook page, the team has indicated that alpha testers can log into the game right now.

The City-State Entertainment team has sent word that it will be co-hosting a special live stream event this Saturday, March 28th at 1:00 pm Eastern / 10:00 am Pacific. Co-hosting with the development team will be CohhCarnage whose Twitch.tv channel will be used for the special event. Cohh is a former Dark Age of Camelot player and fan.

Last night's Camelot Unchained update contained the good news that the alpha test for the highly anticipated title has officially begun. Over a thousand backers checked in during the initial hours of the alpha which ran smoothly without crashes for nearly 72 hours. In addition, physics ran flawlessly as did the "CUBE" or Camelot Unchained Building Environment.

Now that the Camelot Unchained alpha is underway, we had the chance to ask Mark Jacobs a few questions about the process leading up to alpha and about the game's progress.

The path to the beginning of the Camelot Unchained alpha continues tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3rd. Thanks to MMORPG.com user will75, we know that the team will be on Twitch.tv during a planned stress test of the game servers in an effort to see if improvements to the game client's stability have been effective. During the event, developers plan contests, chat with the development team and a live look at the work that's going into getting the Camelot Unchained alpha underway.

The Camelot Unchained alpha did not begin as expected, despite the best efforts of the development team throughout the weekend. In a lengthy letter to the Camelot Unchained community, Mark Jacobs promised the community remuneration in the form of free subscription days, CSE points and Founder's Points. Jacobs further informed fans that alpha is likely only to be delayed a short time to solve some pesky client crash issues, though all other systems seemed to be working as intended.

The Camelot Unchained team will be starring in a live stream today beginning at approximately 10:00 Eastern / 7:00 Pacific that will show the final preparations for the start of the game's alpha. According to last night's update, it would be an easy matter to delay the commencement of alpha in order to complete the final preparations, but the team feels that that's not an option.
