The Camelot Unchained weekly news letter is out in the wild and it comes with the intriguing note that the team has been using pantomime while figuring out combat animations for the Forest Stalker. This has been done to help the team create the right "powerful and flashy" look for Overgrowth Shot and, from the letter's celebratory mood, it seems to have worked.

UPDATE: Camelot Unchained will see an Beta 1 on July 4, 2018! Feature lock will take place in mid-June. ORIGINAL: For those who have been anxiously waiting for the start of Beta 1 in Camelot Unchained, today's your lucky day. During a special live stream event today at 12:00 pm Pacific / 3:00 pm Eastern, City State Entertainment plans to make the big announcement. The event will take place in the City State Twitch channel at the appointed hour.

City State Entertainment has scored an additional $7.5M through the investment from the original Mythic Entertainment backers. Mythic is the first studio founded by City State's Mark Jacobs. Investors include GF Capital Management & Advisors, the same group that helped fund Mythic.

The Camelot Unchained Friday newsletter is out and shows off some pretty amazing artwork showing how concept art has been implemented into the game. This includes bows, quivers, bow animations and even some facial models players will have access to.

As Camelot Unchained motors towards beta testing (YAY!), the CSE team wants players, fans and backers to understand the driving forces present in the first round of testing. To that end, a lengthy, informative document has been prepared that currently contains fourteen chapters (two of which are not viewable by backers, but are for CSE only). Each chapter delves into various systems and features such as character creation, crafting and more.

Over the course of the last week, the Camelot Unchained team has most notably been hard at work on the game's animations along with other areas of focus including tech updates, the siege weapons system, as well as a pass at filling out the "Autumn biome".

The Friday Camelot Unchained newsletter has a very positive tone to it as the team is making big progress towards Beta 1. In fact, 2 items on the Primary Beta 1 list have been checked off, moving the game that much closer to this big event.

Over the past 7 days the art and tech teams have been hard at work on a number of projects including accessing Network performance, coding resource nodes, the creation of a separate physics server along with several brand new art assets including polearms and animations.

While in its initial phase of deployment, the developers will have an ability to create even more realistic character movement and high-quality animations from this point on.

In addition, this week featured a testing opportunity for IT participants and alpha testers. The new testing client included a number of feature enhancements, skill revamps and much more.

The Camelot Unchained team has grown a bit in recent weeks and during today's live stream, viewers will get an opportunity to meet two new folks as well as see what's new on the game front. The event takes place at 3:00 pm Pacific / 6:00 pm Eastern in the Camelot Unchained Twitch.tv channel.

The Camelot Unchained site has been updated with its Friday wrap up of the week that was. The biggest news for the week is the announcement that the game will feature Discord intergration for voice communications between players.
