My Top 5 IP MMORPG Wishlist

1. Sid Meier's Civilization: MMORPG

A Civilization based MMORPG where players and guilds can form sovereign societies and battle other nations for control of the world's land and resources while competing with eachother in every sociopolitical aspect that encompasses all of what made the Civilization series so great.

The possibilities are nearly endless and a Civilization based MMORPG could truly revolutionize the way we look at MMORPG's as linear grindfests and transform them into truly amazing and dynamic worlds full of turmoil, politics and subcultures.

2. God of War MMORPG

When it comes to spilling blood and getting it on with the women, Conan can't hold Kratos' jockstrap. Cratos in Mythology and in the game was the son of Zeus. In God of War, the MMORPG, players can align themselves with different Gods and Goddesses and battle it out mercilessly for control of Mythological Greece and beyond. This title would of course be rated M and would put the matured centric hype of Age of Conan to shame.

3. Star Wars MMO

Although it's been done before, it was never done right. To have such a prolific IP go to waste is the biggest shame of the MMORPG industry. There should be 5 million people playing a Star Wars MMORPG. Unfortunately, the task was given to Sony Online Entertainment who has managed to alienate and shun loyal and dedicated Star Wars fanatics when they relaunched their sandbox Star Wars MMORPG as a fixed path FPSish MMORPG with the New Game Enhancements.

It's time for SOE to pass the torch and for LucasArts to realize that if done right, a Star Wars MMORPG can be successful.

4. Mario MMORPG

Why not? Combine all of the past Mario hits and turn it all into one big MMORPG. Allow players to choose between the good and bad sides of the Mario Universe and compete against eachother in fun filled head on minigames, run quests and save (or kidnap) peach.

There really aren't any good family and kid based MMORPG's out there and this would surely topple Toontown and Hello Kitty Online. It could also mean the demise of Habbo Hotel and Club Penguin. Kids are only playing those games because there's nothing else to play. Give them something good to sink their teeth into and $$$$ all around for Nintendo.

5. Spore MMORPG

Spore is intriguingly interesting. The concept is so close to being an MMORPG the way you will be able to send your creations to others and see what happens. If you take that process one step further where there were huge persistent worlds where players controlled local ecosystems and used their creations to invade other ecosystems in a global game of survival of the fittest.

What are your top 5 existing IP's that you would like to see turned into an MMORPG?

With the name zergwatch I assumed Starcraft would be on that list. Here is my list for the hell of it...

1. Aliens VS Predator

Marines, aliens, predators, man this would be fun. None of that stupid AvP movie nonsense. The time line would have to coincide a bit after Aliens. The perfect PvP IP.

2. Shadow Run

This would be a good sci fi IP.

3.  Battletech

Big ass mechs. This would be a good PvP IP.

4. Firefly

I love the movie. It could make an interesting MMO.

5. WhiteWolf

I dont really like the pen and paper system, but, vamps, werewolves, etc would be interesting.

My two cents:

1. Star Wars - I agree with Zergwatch. So much potential... Someone do it right plz.

2. Star Trek - I think this could be a lot of fun but I doubt any developer could do it justice.

3. Quake - why not? haha... If they can make a movie out of Doom then how about a Quake MMO?

4. Starcraft - OK, ima chump for saying this, but I think that Blizzard could take the lessons learned from WoW, the large mountain of money and make something awesome.

5. Tron - Dude, Tron is badass! Think PvP here...

That being said, I am not really that interested in seeing a specific IP implemented (correctly or its no dice). What really interests me is seeing a polished game, with a high fun factor, engaging combat mechanics and meaningful PvP that incites epic guild v guild battles. (I know that I just kinda described EVE Online but it didn't do it for me... Close, but no)

4. Any Mech type MMO.

5. God of War - the Fantasy Genre is overplayed, but if done right, that could be a hit.

I'd have to say mario mmorpg I'm not feeling it paper mario was kinda cool in it's weird unique way but an mmorpg on mario I'll pass, I want to know mario as my favorite platformer and nothing more.

God of War would be cool but very limited, it is meant for a single player game and nothing more, I guess if you took the universe of God of War but even then paper thin, I don't see it working.

For Civ I'd say the same, leave it for what it is an RTS and nothing more, dreamlords tried it, I'm sure it has some players but nothing of a major attraction, when I played it, it felt out of place as if I was playing a single player RTS anyway.

Stars Wars MMO, it's coming just wait for Bioware to officially announce it.  I'm amped for it myself can't wait and with the recent leak of it being set in KoTOR universe I'm more amped then a kid in a candy store.

Spore, well we will see how that goes I'm very excited for this as well but I'd see a bunch of people sharing one world or a universe for that matter a good thing so I don't see the value of having it an MMORPG, the content sharing is going to be neat and that's really all that's needed for that.

I also like the idea brought up about Tron.

My list would be as follows:

AvP - For sure, it has potential

R.A. Salvatore - An mmo built in his world and lore would be awesome, I mean who doesn't love drizzt.

.Hack - Though I know they tried it in japan and it pretty much flopped I think there is a good deal of americans who would play, the substance of it oozes mmo since it was built to resemble an mmo in single player mode, I just think the world itself and if it was sandboxed would make a hell of an mmo.

Bleach - Yep the popular anime into an mmo, this is not only attractive to the anime freaks but is also another open ended world where you could go nuts and bring in some kick ass content and gameplay if done right.

Blade - I always thought this would make a good mmo, half-breed vampires, vampires and humans battle it, with kick ass swordry who could want more!

I guess I'll stop here before I get outta hand.

  • Harry Potter MMO
  • Naruto MMO
  • Halo MMOFPS
  • Bethesda MMO (I don't care what game from them)

Well, I'm just starting, haha.
