Strimpf OOC

Slightly more than casual LOTRO player. I don't have a clue what I am doing and would like to share it with others.

Here on the eve of MoM, I am having LOTRO withdrawals.  My most advanced character in LOTRO is a lvl30 Burglar Hobbit named Strimpfo (all my LOTRO alts have 'strimpf' somewhere in the name.)  Mostly, I run around aimlessly trying to complete quests by myself.  After years of gaming online,. I still haven't got the social part of the gaming down.  I think it may be too late to change my spots on that one, but who knows...

At one time or another, I have played the following MMORPG's:

Ultima Online

World of Warcraft

Guild Wars

Lord of the Rings Online

More Personal History

Like alot of folks, I started playing MUDs way back in the early 90's (Harn was one, thanks Kurt) , tried the old Sierra Online later and graduated to playing head-to-head in games like Rise of the Triad, Duke Nuke 'em, and, later Diablo.  I also have played my share of FPS's online (so to speak) including Quake, Far Cry, CoD2,and  Unreal Tournament, among others.  Heck, I've even tried to play Madden on-line.

There is a common thread that runs through all the games I have played on-line....I sucked at all of them.  It didn't stop me from enjoying some of them, but I have rarely won at anything.

My favorite competitive video game moment came when Mark Gretzinger and I were playing Rise of the Triad via modem and we learned how to turn the gravity down and I shot him immediately after he hit one of the high bouncing spots.  He got to re-spawn in time to get hit by chunks of himself.

strimpf out.
