Hey All,

Now that we have finished with the race introductory videos, we wanted to share a brief intro to each current playable class. I know this doesn’t tide you over until closed beta, but hey, it doesn’t hurt.

This image has been resized. Click to view the full Size Image.

Playable by:
Human, Turga, Muris

Usable Weapons:
Sword, Greatsword, Battle Axe, Mace
Note: Warriors cannot dual wield.

The undisputed masters of straightforward battle, Warriors are tanks with a tendency to charge headfirst into a fight. Their abilities are equally balanced between offense and defense. All Warriors begin their journey with the skill “Wild Charge”, a basic attack that inflicts 137 damage, and one skill point to grab a new ability of their choice. As players level up, they can work their way along Attack and Defense skill trees to learn more new skills and abilities.

The Attack tree is for those who want to cleave their enemies with well-polished two handed swords and axes. Aside from hack and slash style abilities, the Attack tree offers a variety of power increasing abilities for both yourself and your party, best used to maximize damage per second during those grueling boss fights.

Anex’s favorite skill in this tree: “Steel Tornado”

Spin your weapon to become a deadly whirlwind, dealing a certain percentage of your weapon damage to all nearby enemies with each successful hit.
This attack also has a chance to stun any enemies hit for 3 seconds.
    This attack hits multiple times.

- It hits everything nearby – for a lot. It’s a fun skill when you have a cleric to keep you up and you can spin spin spin.

The Defense trees primary focus is exactly as one would think, to absorb up all the damage while dishing a little out in return. When taking this route, one will always want to yield a shield to protect against the onslaught of arrows, slashes, mashes, crashes, bites, and stings! Aside from buffs to increase physical and magic defense, the Defense tree also adds plenty of utility type abilities such as malice increasing shouts and short duration stuns.

Anex’s favorite skill in this tree: “Divine Shield”

Throw a holy shield at the target, inflicting magic damage. This also has a chance to stun the target, and will drastically increase their Malice.

- I love this skill because it’s a great way to initiate or re-pull aggro after your mage or thief started blowing up the wrong target.

Don't forget to check out the LO Website Warrior Description for more skill info.

Lime Odyssey Human Spotlight

Hey LO’ers,

We’re back with an introduction to the Humans.

The Humans in Lime Odyssey begin their journey in Blue Coral. Before Lime entered the world once again, Humans made their living on the open sea. Their lives were not easy, nor were the seas kind, but humanity struggled on. Five hundred years ago, a broken and battered ship was forced to make harbor in a land filled with blue coral. The proud ship Green Leaf no longer stood proudly above the waves, and the humans that emerged fared little better than their vessel. Thin and weak from lack of food, they carried their children onto the shore and determined that this land should now be their home.

[Green Coral]

Within the forest, the surviving crew of the Green Leaf built a thriving community based around the coral of the area. They named their town Blue Coral, and many of the world’s greatest craftsmen came from this small coastal area. Young humans still cannot escape the adventurous spirit of their ancestors, and many have left home to seek out the Goddess’ Lime.

Today, Blue Coral Forest is a thriving land, abundant with vibrant plants and sea life. While home to many welcoming animals, the forest and beach are inhabited by some that are hostile to the humans. Venturing too far to the north will lead you into Baron Northpallor’s Manor; although, this mansion is not friendly to visitors. Don’t forget to check out the depths of the Beren Sea, bounty and treasure might ensue.

[Coral Beach]

The main town of the Blue Coral Forest, appropriate named Blue Coral, is a central hub for the hang out and trading of all races. With it's prime location overlooking the beautiful ocean, there's no doubt Blue Coral will be alive day and night with on-lookers. I foresee many events and good times will come from this land.

Note: We originally released this video a long while ago and have thus decided to re-release it to those fans that haven’t had the chance to watch.

Long live Nysis,

Lime Odyssey - It's Turga Time!!

Click here to watch the INTRODUCTION VIDEO!

The Turga in Lime Odyssey live in a meadow in the north of the continent and have a distinct lion-like appearance. Simple and honest as they are, with deep faith and brute strength they intend to be born again as a supreme ruler of the meadow. Since ancient times the savage Turgas ruled the Tumbara Plain and have lived their lives in battle. From childhood, little Turga mimicked the battle games of the adults with wooden weapons - their uncomplicated lives centered on discipline, honor, and willpower.

"Spirit Solace" Cleric Spell Effect

Competing to claim the Turga’s homeland, the Keigers have instigated vicious wars and caused the loss of countless Turga fighters, much of their honor and most of their land. During the third war, the Turgas mustered a final, heroic charge and managed to reclaim their capital, Karakunta, but at a great cost. When rumors of Lime began spreading, many saw opportunity in capturing this all-powerful fruit for their own means, to help reclaim the West Tumbara Plains.

Today, the Turga begin their journey in the West Tumbara Plain of North Orta. Home to the Turga’s primary trading hub of Karakunta, these barrenness plains are not for the weak of heart. Buried in the lofty mountains of this town lies Talunvara Canyon, crawling with Keigers. Don’t be fooled by the fact that this is the first dungeon accessible to all players, my first five attempts were quite unsuccessful.

These friendly giants are currently my favorite race to play in Lime Odyssey. Standing considerably taller than both Muris and Human, you really feel like a savage warrior fighting your way to uncover the lime. Not to mention, the Turga’s have some of the best dance moves and emotes in the game - Boogie!

Lime Odyssey Composer Spotlight

Hey Music Fans!
Here’s a first taste of Lime Odyssey’s amazing soundtrack, created and composed by the renowned Yasunori Mitsuda.  He has composed and worked on music for over 35 video games, including titles such as Chrono Trigger (SNES), Xenogears (PS1), Chrono Cross (PS1) and Xenosaga Episode 1: Der Wille zur Macht (PS2).   His vast experience helps bring the music of Lime Odyssey to life.

Though this is his first Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) soundtrack, Lime Odyssey’s music production shines through with Mitsuda’s signature touch. By immersing himself into the game, the pieces he has composed perfectly complement the aesthetics of each area while establishing the mood and tone to correlate with the progression of time. Each respective area has variations of its main theme to reflect the cycles of day and night throughout the world of Orta. Instrument choice strongly comes into play with these compositions and for anyone familiar with his previous works will feel a sense of nostalgia as they play through Lime Odyssey.
The theme for the Human designated town of Blue Coral has a predominate piano melody setting the homely pace for this sea port town as the accompanying strings carry the melody which cause it to resonate into the surrounding areas of Blue Coral Forest. This piece is a prime example of Mitsuda’s minimalistic approach in the majority of his compositions.
The main theme for West Tumbara Plains starts off small and builds up to this grandiose march which fits perfectly with the progression of the Turga as they press forward on their journey towards the Lime. Using light strings, woodwinds, and brass to correlate with the vastness of the plains, and then leading into the introduction of the drums to further instill the sense of progression, Mitsuda complements the Turga’s strong willed personality while taking their surroundings into account with this piece.
The theme for the Muris hub of Pripet is very light and airy while still maintaining and earthy tone as it completely fits the ambiance of the lush and colorful forest of the floating Shimmering Isle. The lively strings and piano coupled with the woodwinds and bells inject the area with life and magic. This piece is a prime example of the tea-loving Muris and another example of Mitsuda taking all the factors of a setting into consideration for his compositions.

Muris Spotlight!

Hey All!

This week we bring to you the opening video for the Muris!

As the cinematic demonstrates, the Muris in Lime Odyssey are fun-loving, mischievous, and spread trouble wherever they go. However, they are good-natured about their tricks and are so charismatic that they prove difficult to dislike. The Muris are centralized around the town of Pripet in the Shimmering Island of East Orta from which they begin their journey. From a Star Bridge and Thistlebury Tea Garden to windmills and forests, this floating world features many surprises.

These curious tricksters have all current Lime Odyssey battle classes available to them:

  • Warrior – Warriors are tanks, but also fairly balanced between defense and offense. Warriors are the masters of straightforward battle.
  • Thief – Masters of shadows, misdirection, and speed, Thieves are powerful characters when properly implemented.
  • Mage – Standing in both darkness and light, the great mages of the land wield the elements and the power of necrosis.
  • Cleric – Useful in battle in more ways than just support, Clerics provide powerful ranged support in addition to their strong healing abilities.
Don't understimate their cuteness, these Muris aren't afraid to pack a punch!

Lime Odyssey Farming Spotlight

Hey all you Lime Odyssey fans,
We at Aeria had the idea to start consistently posting blogs about features in Lime Odyssey to get everyone familiar with the game.

Today, we have all you ever wanted to know about FARMING! ZOMG.

Farming in Lime Odyssey enables players to harvest Crops or Livestock to receive Loot. These can be obtained from a farmer who is normally located by the farms next to any main town. There are various types of Crops and Livestock in Lime Odyssey, each of which yields a unique item. For example, a Cow Token yields fresh milk and a Vegetable Token yields long squash.
Currently, there are 9 different types of crops or livestock to farm:
  • Sheep Token– normally yields Wool
  • Pig Token – normally yields Striped Leather
  • Cow Token– normally yields Fresh Milk
  • Mole Token – normally yields Curved Horn
  • Fruit Tree Token– normally yields Round Fruit
  • Vegetable Token– normally yields Long Squash
  • Flower Token– normally yields Sweet-Smelling Flower
  • Panda Token– normally yields Sweet Bamboo Shoot
  • Cactus Token – normally yields Smooth Thorn
These crops or livestock can be obtained from a “Farmer”, normally located by the farms next to any main town.
How do I farm?
Once you summon a crop or livestock you need to follow these steps in order to properly “Harvest” and receive loot. You must summon the crop or livestock in the appropriate farming area.
1)The crop or livestock has a “Satisfaction” rating that starts at “Greatly Dissatisfied”. In order to “Harvest”, the crop or livestock must be “Greatly Satisfied”.
2)The “Status” of a crop or livestock starts at “Normal” but quickly turns into one of two options:
(a) “Hungry” –You must “Feed” in order to bring “Status” back to “Normal”
(b) “Pain” – You must “Heal” in order to bring “Status” back to “Normal”
Every time you perform “Feed” or “Heal” the “Satisfaction” level increases.
3)Once the crop or livestock is at “Greatly Satisfied”, you now have the option to “Harvest”
(a) See above for normal “Harvest” yield
(b) Sometimes, you may “Jackpot” to receive something greater than what is listed above
(i) This can include rare recipes, gear, etc.
(ii) This includes greater quantities of normal yield
4) After you have successfully “Harvest” the crop or livestock, it will disappear.
$$$ BLING BLING $$$Sometimes, when summoning a crop or livestock, it might appear a different color than the normal crop or livestock – this means you have hit a“Jackpot” which usually leads to greater loot.
I harvested, but only got 1 fresh milk
The longer duration your crop or livestock is left alive and not harvested, the bigger it grows and better or more loot it will reward.
1)Both crop or livestock have a total of 4 “Growth Stages”
2) “Growth Stage” begins at 0 and at maximum reaches 3
3)At each “Growth Stage” the crop or livestock evolves and grows bigger, generally having a different look
i.e. Cactus starts as a ball, works its way into a bigger ball, then two branches, then eventually a full grown cactus with branches and fruit.
4)Growth stage 1 provides more and better loot than growth stage 0, and so on (Growth stage 3 being the most evolved).
In addition to “Feed”, “Heal” and “Harvest”, you also have the option to “Change Name” of the crop or livestock or have it “Play” – which generally performs a little dance.
LO for life,
PM Anex

Hello again, fine folks! It's New Blog Thursday over here at the Lime Odyssey Headquarters! We're here again to bring you behind-the-scenes news and updates on your favorite upcoming MMORPG.

First of all, have you signed up for the Alpha test yet? We will not be accepting applications much longer, so you should definitely head over to the forums and pop in your survey answers soon if you want exclusive access to Lime Odyssey's very limited early-stage test. In fact, you should head over to the forums anyway, since the amazing, hard-working Lime Odyssey community managers are working on a plethora of new events with real prizes!

Pre-Alpha Event Round Up

The Lime Odyssey team has noticed a few things about our community; the overwhelming sense of passion for this game's release is nearly matched by a vast, deep pool of creative talent present across the forums.

In fact, we decided to create a separate Creative forum, just for your fan art, short stories, fan screenshots and more.

With that in mind, we whipped up quite a few art-themed events to give our budding LO artists a chance to express themselves:

  • Shop This Monster! - Take the picture and go to town. Hack it up, draw on it, make a whatever. Post it in the thread. Bam. Achieve awesomeness (and possibly win AP!)
  • "Rhyme" Odyssey - Enter your Ode for a chance to win!
  • Why Lime is Awesome - (Ended) We gave our fans the chance to win an exclusive profile badge for posting their single favorite thing about the game.

Theme of the Week: Professions

In other exciting news and updates, this week we're spotlighting one of Lime Odyssey's coolest features: Professions! Professions and crafting are intricately woven in the fabric of Lime Odyssey's gameplay, and definitely aren't a simple afterthought like in so many MMORPGs these days. Instead, you must assign a crafting-themed profession to your character in the beginning of the game. After choosing a race and picking a battle-themed class, you must also assign a domestic role for your character. After all, who can get by without a job in today's touch economic times, hardened warrior or not?

Crafting adds a thriving economic dimension to Lime Odyssey. You can craft gear and other items and post them for sale in the auction house, or just keep the good stuff for you and your guild ;) With soo many townsfolk in needs of crafting assistance across the Ortan landscape, your character's profession has the capability to bring you riches and glory!

Switch seamlessly between your battle class and your profession with the push of a button. It's that easy.

Pictured above - Turga Warrior and Turga Blacksmith. You will level up and bind gear to your professional side separately from your battle-themed class.

Blacksmith - If you adopt the blacksmith trade, you'll spend your days scooping up rock, wood, iron and other materials that you can eventually forge into armors for the Warrior class, or weapons for all classes. Watch your character pull out an anvil and start smithing in front of your eyes!

Level up your Blacksmith class to 30, and you'll receive a quest where you must further specialize your craft. Choose to focus your abilities on churning out high-quality Warrior armor and shields, or go a different route and focus on creating powerful swords and weapons that you can sell to any class.

Tailor - Tailoring is often a forgotten craft in today's time, but well-stitched garment in Lime Odyssey can be a life-saving creation.Tailors gather furs and leathers from wandering creatures across Orta. Your tailor is a master of the old-school sewing machine; watch him craft high-quality leather and cloth armors for the Cleric, Mage and Thief battle classes.

Tailors are more versatile than Blacksmiths, but both professions receive a specialty quest at level 30. Tailors can go on to focus on either leather or cloth armor crafting.

Chef - Don't rule out this seemingly simple, homebound profession. Chefs whip up life-saving potions and meals, useful to restore HP during a long battle or give your character that extra oomph.

Don your best chef hat and pull out your frying pan - the chef's whimsical outfits betray the powerful nature of their magical concoctions. At level 30, decide whether you want to focus on potions or meals.

So, what will your chosen profession be in Lime Odyssey? Want our advice? You can't go wrong with a Turga Warrior Blacksmith. The beastly Turga race is meant for winning battles. Turgas can become a Warrior, Cleric or Thief class. Since Blacksmiths can craft mighty Warrior armors, if you are a battle-inclined player it only makes sense to choose the Turga Warrior Blacksmith combination.

As for Tailor and Cook, they are best adopted by the less-hearty races and classes. Of course, there are no real limits in Lime Odyssey. Choose your own adventure!

Lime Odyssey: The Alpha Test is Coming!

You've probably all heard the exciting news by now: Lime Odyssey will enter a limited Alpha Test later this month! Didn't we promise a big update this week? ;) We here on the Lime Odyssey Team do our very best not to disappoint our passionate community, especially since you all have been waiting so patiently for this epic game's release in North America.

Interested in becoming an Alpha tester for Lime Odyssey? Experienced MMORPG fans are encouraged to visit this forum post to apply for a spot in the Alpha test during our brief application period.

To celebrate the announcement of our upcoming Alpha test for Lime Odyssey, we've released a new set of screenshots and the opening cinematic for the Human race this week. We're also ramping up our forum events, giving all our eager fans a chance to show some community love for Lime Odyssey!

Between all the exciting information available on the Lime Odyssey website and news of the Alpha Test this week, there's TONS to talk about on the forums.

Check out the Human Introduction cinematic on the Lime Odyssey YouTube channel too. The video includes audio narration, telling the historical tale of the Human race, and is what you'll be shown when you create a new Human character in the game.

Humans were originally a seafaring race who thrived on the oceans of Orta until hardship and struggle overcame their existence. Their starving, battered ancestors eventually landed ashore at the Blue Coral Forest, determined to start a new life for their families.

Blue Coral is where the humans have staked their homeland claim today, and some of the most talented craftsmen in Orta hail from here.

Only the Humans and the Muris can begin their journey in Orta as any of the 4 available battle classes (Warrior, Thief, Cleric and Mage) and both races can also adopt any of the three professions (Tailor, Chef and Blacksmith).

Will you search for the sacred Lime as a Human? Or perhaps the gruff Turga race or the hobbit-like Muris race is more suited to your play-style?

In addition to the new human race introduction, you can also view our newly released screenshots along with all our previously-released screenshots over at the ever-popular Lime Odyssey Facebook page.

Check out this group shot from this week's release. You can get a glimpse of what it's like to party up in Lime Odyssey; and take a look at some higher level armors and weapons. You'll want to party up to raid some of the dungeons in Lime Odyssey, and to help with some of the more difficult quests. We'll tell you more about the awesome dungeons in the game later. Hey, if you get into the Alpha test, you can see for yourself!

Partying up in Lime Odyssey is really cool, and makes slaying some of the bigger, gnarlier NPCs a lot more enjoyable and smoother than trying to win the game alone.

We'll have more news and updates next week, dear blog readers. In the mean time, keep checking the forums for new events and opportunities to earn exclusive goodies.
