We're happy to present our new official homepage for WWII Online: Battleground Europe. It's been more than three years since the last redesign when we were supporting the European retail release of the game. This time around, we turned our focus towards providing a more comprehensive news and information site which brings all the terrific content that is generated by the staff of Cornered Rat Software and the various community programs to the front- ensuring visitors understand that the game and the community are active and robust.

Because we're attempting to bring together content from different sites such as CS&R, WWIIOL WIKI and others that run on different applications than the homepages, there still remain some issues of consistency across all our web properties. In the coming weeks and months you will see additional changes to the OCS pages, the WIKI, the player discussion forums and more. Our goal it to present a more solidified web presence.

Information about Official Forums
One thing that you will want to note is that posts made by staff in the "Official" section of the discussion forums will now be found as part of news, updates and articles on the website. "Announcements" and "Production Notes" forums will remain available for viewing archived postings only. "Follow-up Discussions", "Dev Tracker", "Mini-Cons" and other official forums will remain.

New Features
There are a lot of new features on this website but I'd like to point out a few;

News Archive- while content will come and go on the front page, you can always access the entire library of content on the site by clicking on the "News Archive" link found on virtually every page. The content is provided in categories to make it much easier to get what you are after.

RSS Feed- many browsers allow you to add RSS feeds and have the lastest news pulled from a website and displayed in an easy-to-read format. The new site provides this service and you can add our feed to your browser by clicking the icon on the main page.

News via Email- If RSS feeds aren't your thing then subscribe to our e-mail service powered by FeedBurner. Each day, any articles posted to the website from the previous 24 hours are e-mailed to you. This is a great way to keep up with the game and the community.

Player Polls- At the bottom of the home page you will find a new player poll item. This will be refreshed often so you cast your vote for or against a variety of topics and issues. It also helps us plan for events and game feature development.

Time Change- Be sure to visit the site at different times of the day and night. You might see some changes.

This new site was created with the help of our own staff as well as the efforts of one of our community members. Bobby "Tenpin" Thanepohn who earns his living as a professional web designer was a big influence and contributed in every area of this new site. We're glad we could support his enterprise and as always it was great to work with him.

We hope you like the new site and the news and articles it provides. If you'd like to leave a comment about the new site, post it here.
