Conquering Macintosh: Experiencing Conquer on Mac

We’ve been working on the project of bringing Conquer Online onto the Macintosh Snow Leopard OS for a long stretch of time. And now we’re really making some progresses, which is quite inspiring, even for us!

When the newest device arrived at our workplace, Mac Mini, I hooked it up with the monitor once it’s all set up, turned it on, and now we’re entering the Macintosh world.

The Mac version of Conquer Online is still being tested intensely, and our programmers are doing everything they can to bring some changes to this version. And yep, I’m quite a lucky person to experience it on Mac other than other specialists here. Now follow me and explore the uncharted world.

The graphic doesn’t look abominable on Mac OS, and the character control in game doesn’t seem that easy for me to handle in the beginning.

I experienced immense fun in playing Conquer Online on Mac, and at the moment it’s still a beta version, or, in technical term, it’s called alpha.

And noticeably the control on Mac OS, Snow Leopard to be exact, doesn’t seem as much convenient for the PC user like me. For now, some of the functions are not fully developed based on my experience of playing it the whole afternoon.

Here are 2 shortcomings for current alpha version.


1. F1 - F12 functional keystrokes don’t have any effect in game, it’s still premature to say how the combination of keystrokes it would be to take place of the current PC functional keys.

2. Option panel would reset to default automatically every time, the change couldn’t be saved after being applied.

Despite the drawbacks in this version, there are still some strong points for this more improved beta.

1. Original appearances of the weapons, sets of gear and garments have shown their identities with lot more details. it’s evident that the graphic is more subtle than that of Windows.

2. The previous bugs have all been fixed in this beta. And notably, from my perspective the graphics are better, by contrast, than that on Windows somewhat.

3. The gameplay runs smoothly without any lags in the game, and this is the best ever playthrough of my own on a Macintosh machine.

I will post screenshots pertaining to the first experience of Conquer Online on Mac, there’s more to come by the end of this month, and we will put up more up-to-date behind-the-scene info here as the project progresses.

Now that Conquer has paved its way to show off on Mac OS, what if it makes to iPad2 then?
