Hola, gamers! I’m here to talk a bit about the improved Mac version of Conquer Online. Although it’s still in the beta phase, I wanted to point out some pros and cons of the new setup, here.

There’s great news for all the Mac users who eagerly want to experience and play Conquer Online on their Macintosh! We’ve decided to arrange a Closed Beta for the Mac users who wish to give us a hand making sure things are running smoothly! The schedule hasn’t been determined yet, but as soon as it’s decided we will announce the news on our official site. By then, you all will be able to download the Conquer client for Mac from our official download center.

It’s been quite a busy few weeks for the programmers, with the testing of the Mac client and all the changes made. But with all that work, the improved beta client has finally come into being! Let’s take a sneak peek at what’s new!
                                                                                                                Courtesy: Will
After the first experience on a Macintosh, the compatibility of Conquer Online on the new Snow Leopard OS has made a big leap, and it’s working much better than before. We hope to provide the best possible playing environment for our Mac users, and programmers are working at full bore to test the client as much as possible.
                                                                                                                                   Courtesy: Will
Last time, some glitches in the client were spotted, and I compared the latest installation file to the previous one, and here is what I found improved:

1. A right mouse click could be activated, if you’d like to use Snow Leopard just like a Windows OS. Open “Preference”and “Mouse”, make left-click secondary instead of primary, and you’ll be able to use the Skills to attack opponents in game just like you do on Windows. If you would like to go with Leopard, there’s nothing to change.

2. The files were finally made available to the staff here, and we could install the game with ease. Just double click the pkg file, and the installation process will commence. Within minutes, the installation will be complete.

3. The F1 –F10 Keys are no longer functional. No Function Keys? No problem! F1 –F10 have been replaced with the number keys 1 –10. With respect to the change of this function, we’ve considered many different aspects, and thought this may be the best solution to the missing keys.

4. The Options panel works fine this time, without any disruption while applying changes to the game. You could hide your name as you like, as well as turn down the volume.

It still needs improvement in some areas, like the size of the installation file is at around 600 –700 MB, which is much larger than the one for Windows.

Don’t forget to join us on the Closed Beta for Mac version of Conquer Online
We’ll look forward to seeing you there!
As always, you could pose questions in the comments and I’ll try the best I can to answer them!

Conquering Macintosh: Experiencing Conquer on Mac

We’ve been working on the project of bringing Conquer Online onto the Macintosh Snow Leopard OS for a long stretch of time. And now we’re really making some progresses, which is quite inspiring, even for us!

When the newest device arrived at our workplace, Mac Mini, I hooked it up with the monitor once it’s all set up, turned it on, and now we’re entering the Macintosh world.

The Mac version of Conquer Online is still being tested intensely, and our programmers are doing everything they can to bring some changes to this version. And yep, I’m quite a lucky person to experience it on Mac other than other specialists here. Now follow me and explore the uncharted world.

The graphic doesn’t look abominable on Mac OS, and the character control in game doesn’t seem that easy for me to handle in the beginning.

I experienced immense fun in playing Conquer Online on Mac, and at the moment it’s still a beta version, or, in technical term, it’s called alpha.

And noticeably the control on Mac OS, Snow Leopard to be exact, doesn’t seem as much convenient for the PC user like me. For now, some of the functions are not fully developed based on my experience of playing it the whole afternoon.

Here are 2 shortcomings for current alpha version.

1. F1 - F12 functional keystrokes don’t have any effect in game, it’s still premature to say how the combination of keystrokes it would be to take place of the current PC functional keys.

2. Option panel would reset to default automatically every time, the change couldn’t be saved after being applied.

Despite the drawbacks in this version, there are still some strong points for this more improved beta.

1. Original appearances of the weapons, sets of gear and garments have shown their identities with lot more details. it’s evident that the graphic is more subtle than that of Windows.

2. The previous bugs have all been fixed in this beta. And notably, from my perspective the graphics are better, by contrast, than that on Windows somewhat.

3. The gameplay runs smoothly without any lags in the game, and this is the best ever playthrough of my own on a Macintosh machine.

I will post screenshots pertaining to the first experience of Conquer Online on Mac, there’s more to come by the end of this month, and we will put up more up-to-date behind-the-scene info here as the project progresses.

Now that Conquer has paved its way to show off on Mac OS, what if it makes to iPad2 then?

Stay tuned.

As always, feel free to pose questions in the comments for me, and I will try my best to answer them.

When March comes to an end, there’ll be a few official holidays following behind, and I’m envious of those who could travel around the world, and just like the movie Transamerica, I feel like traversing the China, but you know, too busy to fulfill this goal though.

Of late we’ve brought to action a biggest ever event in Conquer, Free Trip to China. When I first heard the draft resolution, I was like, this was a bold move and wings might wind up broken, well, my guts got it wrong. And it turns out to be a biggest ever event.

And now the event is upon us, it’ll unveil its scarf on 15th March, and every player who meets the requirement for the event would get a chance to win a Free Trip to China.

As the first stop in this journey, city of Fuzhou will welcome this 3 lucky players with its immense culture and gorgeous sceneries as well as the traditional tasty Chinese cuisine. Besides, our TQ Digital Entertainment Headquarters is located in Fuzhou, and you’ll be able to walk around our workplace and meet up with the staff behind the scene.

After visiting our headquarters, we’ll take you to the middle, Henan Province, and Shaolin Temples. I’m sure that martial arts are not so unfamiliar in contemporary action movies, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Jason Statham, not to mention Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. If you ever pay attention to those movies, you would definitely love the Martial Arts. And we’ll bring you to the scenes where real Kung Fu is taught and Monks live.

Finishing up the trip in Henan, we’ll take you up north to the capital of China as the last stop of this China trip. As a famous political and cultural hub of China, Beijing is known for its trove of historical sites and enchanting natural sceneries, making it a compelling destination for the tourists worldwide. Great Walls, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and so forth, those would be worth going.

Now that the enrolment for this substantial event has almost come into being, I’m sure you all will be ecstatic about it and if so, why not visit our official site and give it a shot? And I wish all of you good luck.

Three Destinations in China: Fuzhou, Beijing, Shaolin(Henan Province)

New Era of War/PK Has Dawned!

Everyday seems like a loop and it repeats itself regularly. On my way home, I saw the swim pool right across the fence, yeah, summer time is just around the corner, I’d be ready for swimming.

                                                                                 *TQ Digital Headquarters Swim Pool

I couldn’t rid of the thought that I should, perhaps, bring more features from Chinese version onto our English one. As a matter of fact, I play both version of Conquer since with TQ Digital. And lucky me! I happened to run into this interesting scene. They are worshipping Buddha!

                                                                                                 *Worship the Buddha

Capture the Flag

This is a whole new concept of waging wars at each guild in Conquer world, and it’s not so complicated for every gamer to have a grasp upon. CTF is a modernistic arena-like competition for guilds which wanna establish fame and honour in game.

Unlike other contests in the game, after signing up for this competition, all guildies need to strive for points on their way to victory. When I tested it myself, I found it quite intriguing, and after entering the CTF map, you’ll have to occupy a flag base for your guild first, the most eye-catching plays include Occupy Flag Base, Protect Base(Engage the enemy to take up the flag base), Cover Flag Carrier. That’ll be an awful lot fun to battle against each guild for Flags. And I’m sure you all will love it when the official version arrives.

As always, the more (points) you score, the higher you will be ranked! The Top 8 guilds will be listed in the rankings.

Skill Team PK

This is the second feature added to the game, the name speaks for itself that this is a whole new episode of Team PK Tournament, it all comes down to the skill of controlling your character in the game.

*This is the beta version and right now it’s still being tested out intensely and nonstop.

It’s quite different from normal Team PK tourney, gear sets isn’t the only factor that determines the outcome of the fight. To prove that, I signed up for it in beta version and I had full +12, 130+ gear sets on my Archer, after entering the PK area, something changed. All my gear sets were defaulted to the certain levels and values as well as my battle power. For instance, if you have a level 140 weapon equipped, during the contest, it’s just no difference from the level 120 one. Oh, no worries, when I came out of the fight, everything was back to normal.

Regarding the rewards from this contest, it’s no difference from other Team PK/Guild Wars that team leader would be granted authority to claim the prize for the teammates. Don’t forget to team up with someone trustworthy just in case.

And this is it for today, I believe this is gonna be fun to participate as well as just watch.

Have a great weekend to you all!

This is a photo taken when famous movie star Stephen Chow paid a visit to our headquarters last year, I was standing left in white dress alongside my colleagues.

I’ve been working as the chief producer and I’m glad to always be part of Conquer, which is gonna turn 8 this May. Kind, outgoing, straightforward and benevolent could be used to describe me, and sometimes I’d like to observe the momentum of pendulum, thinking up some innovative ideas that could be wielded into the game and make the game better.

Alright, let’s get to the chase. First thing first, let’s take a brief look at Conquer Online. Published by TQ Digital back in 2003, Conquer has won thousands of hundreds of users worldwide, and of course, we’re not slowing down our paces as the improvements are in development. With an immense amount of players to interact and quest with in game, this to-be 8-yo beautifully realized 2.5D MMORPG game, which is set in the realm of ancient China, provides to either new players or grizzled veterans alike the tremendous experience of gameplay, which is mainly comprised of PvP system.

I’ll keep you all updated on the latest and freshest news on what’s about to come into this game here on a consistent basis. And surely this official blog would become your destination for refreshing CO actions.
