Sick of the same old grind?

Lately I have found myself stuck dead center in a lackluster community that is us gamers. Many new online computer games have came out that offer a lot of depth and content, but what has any one of them brought to the table that these older games haven’t? It’s always the same experience. You travel through their lands leveling up, obtain maximum level, and then go on raids only to get gear that is slightly better than what you had before. In order to do this you must devote a substantial amount of time and work around the schedule of everyone else. I myself have grown sick of this type of gaming, and have found myself looking for something else. I have finally found that something in the online game Evony. It is a refreshing new way to game that allows for both a life and ability to be competitive on the game. It is a strategy game that allows you to build and work around your own schedule. You play leader as you build up your cities and even an empire through a very dynamic system of conquering and building. You can create alliances, make friends, enemies, and participate in real society based around the art of strategy. Being browser based, Evony is great because you can use it on any operating system that has a supporting browser. The simplistic graphics are easy on the eyes, allowing for you to concentrate more on the actual strategy behind the game than getting lost in artwork. All promoting aside, as a college student who has a busy social and work life, Evony has provided me with a game play that no other mmorpg could. As a fellow gamer it shames me to watch one mmorpg after another copy the original EverQuest with a few tweaks and further eye candy. Yes, the graphics are good, but what more do they offer anyone? Is anyone really satisfied with the hack and slash type games anymore? I am expected to pay 10 – 20 bucks a month just to play a game that will become more of a second job then a hobby, and I for one refuse to anymore. So as a fellow gamer, I encourage all of you to at the very least come and check out Evony, for you cannot go wrong. As they boast, they are “Free Forever” to play, with no life commitments. I hope to see you all there!
