Players can earn the ability to do battle while on their mount by completing an epic quest line spanning across multiple zones.  Starting at level 60, this quest line will automatically become available.  Upon completion of this quest line, players will receive a mounted combat license.

Not every mount will be capable of mounted combat right out of the gate, but upgrade options are available.  Any non-combat mount is able to be upgraded into a combat ready state.  The license that enables this system is a temporary one, but can be renewed at will by spending vendor points.  There is no limit to the number of mounts that can be upgraded with this system.

This has totally destroyed my anticipation for this game and update! I was thinking of giving this game a shot when the mounted combat stuff was released, but now; meh.

I have been playing the game for about 2 months with interest in the game going down every day. I go maybe a couple of days without playing now. I have several characters at level 50+ but there is very little point in the game besides increasing the guild. The whole game can be played without ever leaving Freedom Harbor. The idea of mounted combat was intriquing but after finding out it starts at level 60 and is only temporary makes this even less appealing.

I don't know anything about this game. All I know is that mounted combat is awesome if done correctly, these mounts look boss, and having to have a license is utterly ridiculous. I understand the questline part. Sort of like training for the mounted combat. But having it temporary? Come on now..

I've simply lost interest in this game in a matter of 2 days. This game is relatively new yet looks about 6 years old and plays like many other MMOs of this type. It is my opinion that there's nothing new here regardless of what's added.

now i don't even play this game but this sounds freakin epic i wish everyones game would do this kind of thing to make it a fun experience. then again i wished every hunter/beastmaster type class on every game would allow this class to tame animals like World of Warcraft. sigh....

@itgrowls: If you think WoW had a great pet system, you really missed out when SWG was in its prime. Bio-engineers could create pets with experimentation in different stats, and creature handler could train pets, some were able to be trained into mounts and tame wild pets. It took 2 years of my life away before NGE hit.

Downloaded, played for 3 days, got to lvl 30 and uninstalled...

Good graphics,

Boring gameplay (go kill 10 pigs, collect 10 berries)

Good crafting system

Super boring gameplay...It just gets old after a few days, there is just nothing new, but I gotta admit the graphics are really good and thats about it...

You may have to work for achievements for soul leaves and it being bound to 1toon but I've gotten full sets of fashion FREE by lvl 15-40 depending whats your style.. a permanent mount by lvl50-60 FREE soul leaves or soul coins (easy) I've also gotten a pet by selling FREE gems from instances, check the auction pets go for 1copper-1gold (easy). It may take 15, 30, 50+lvling to accomplish all this but you feel very good about that toon with all the work you've done :) ALSO mounted combat mounts (easy) buy a race mount soul leaves800, do lvl60+ main quests and talk to wolfhowl by Hugh.. all you need is 1ancient blood and its combat permanently. ALSO you get a 1week scroll for combat boosts by the mentor educator (easy 200mentor points) you get 250-300 mentor points by helping 1lowbie in 1instance. PLAY THE GAME if you really wanna see whats actually going on. FTW forsaken has really done good to players, I've come back after 4yrs and its really updated nicely.. to anyone who reads this in 2014 try out the game yourself, its a very accomplishing game :) Sun Aug 03 2014 8:23PM Report
