I neglected to make a GO3 2009 posting in my blog earlier this month, so this one will do...

GO3 is a Gaming and Electronics expo held in Perth every year since 2006. For the last few years its been held at the convention centre... Anyhoo...

Earlier this month, at GO3, I tried my hand at the new game called "Borderlands", Borderlands is an upcoming science fiction first-person shooter with RPG elements that is currently in development by Gearbox Software.

At the expo they were giving away show-bags with shirts and various other goodies in them... I sadly wasn't able to get one as they'd run out...

I won't write a full review just yet, but suffice to say, it's "good".

I played the XBox 360 version, but I have the PC version on Pre-Order.

The other game I've pre-ordered is Dragon Age: Origins... I don't really know that much about it other than watching a few videos and a few things that have been said by magazines and the like, saying its a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate...

I hope it lives up to the hype...

Release Dates:

Borderlands (PC-AU) : 30th October 2009

Dragon Age: Origins (PC-AU) : 4th November 2009

Almost finished... Almost...

Taking a while to download, and still has 13 hours to go... =/

Will purchase a hard copy sometime in the next few weeks, just in case I lose the digital copy, which given my track record with usb thumb drives and external hard drives, seems likely...

Can't wait to try it out.

I've heard the GMs take their job seriously, which is good to see, and patches are a good thing to see as well... Reakktor could learn a thing or two...

Torn between 3 MMOs...

Anyone who's read my blog should know that I play mostly WoW in my free time, however after reading articles about Fallen Earth , it's starting to look better than WoW.

I know Fallen Earth has deficiencies (and what game doesn't?)

I'm a fan (normally) of Post-apoc. settings, I'm a Neocron veteran and this looks like its right up my alley, at least till Project V13 ever gets off the ground due to law suits, etc.

Earthrise also looks good... But it might take a while.

A big factor in any decision I make is whether or not a game has local servers, if not, I generally don't play it, however I would make exceptions in the case of games that really catch my eye.

So thus, I'm torn between staying with WoW and experiencing the new Wotlk content and eventually Cataclysm content (The Worgen race appeals to me for some reason) , moving to Fallen Earth, even though its having some teething issues, or staying with one of the previous and moving to Earthrise once that is released....

Disclaimer: This post is a continuation of

2009 came and would eventually bring a new surprise in mid August: Version Update 10.0.

With the new update came with many new issues, such as taking ages to log into the game because the client kept losing connection to the server, regardless of connection strength.

The new graphics are 'nice' though they should have remade the textures for some areas, as they look liked they were ripped out of the previous version.

Some nice surprises arrived in the form of loots, but nothing really impressive. Loots have been pretty poor generally, with mining even worse - In my experiences.

I'm waiting for VU 10.1 - 10.3 to arrive so I can write a decent review. Doing one at the current time when things are slowly being brought back online doesn't really do it justice (which may be more than it deserves, to some)
