Life Interruption

So my life interruption is finally coming to an end! I am a sailor serving in the United States Navy and currently floating in the big blue mass we call the ocean. Been away from most video games, well anything that is 3D uses a lot of resources for a laptop and well any good game for a laptop. Since my laptop doesn’t like any type of game played unless I want to drown myself into “The Sims” or some other half brainless game that doesn’t take much. Although I did have some fun with buddies playing the original “Starcraft” or playing “Diablo II” on my net book (I know it’s a small laptop but I had to see “Diablo II run on it because I could not believe it when I heard about it).
My laptop was a great gaming laptop spending hours playing World of Warcraft, Eve, Dragon Age, and many other titles, but now it just over heats and forces the computer to shutdown. I know your saying to yourself why don’t you just get a new laptop, easier said than done cause I’m very picky when it comes to desktop parts and laptops. I spend hours just looking at all the specs and prices of everything till I come to a conclusion.
Enough rambling on about my laptop and back to the reason I was writing this in the first place. Been out of the loop for awhile (gamer sites are blocked due to bandwidth limits). Been doing research when I can on Rift and my old favorite World of Warcraft, as well as Knights of the Old Republic trying to figure out what game I want to dive into or back into.
Been playing World of Warcraft for over 5 years now, have all but 2 classes (Druid and Rogue) are 80+ with a Priest, Warrior and Hunter at 85. Was finally getting into heroics and getting better gear just before leaving for deployment, then start to see the patch notes (as I get them emailed to me) and I’m really losing interest in the game period. Maybe it’s the fact that I haven’t played in a couple of months but just off the updates I can’t help but ask “Why Blizzard?”
Rift sounds promising and from friends that have played World of Warcraft as long as I have if not a little longer say it’s just amazing. One of them said “it’s the graphics of ‘Aion’ pvp of ‘Warhammer’ and old school leveling (talent system) almost like ‘World of Warcraft’.”
I have been trying to look up as much as I can but with limited bandwidth it just sucks to even try. If you found my blog hit me up and let me know what you would suggest and why.
I plan on having this blog as a review of MMO’s out there with my unbiased opinion and will only do review comparison’s when people request me to do so. My next post will probably be more random stuff that I find interesting about some MMO’s that I may or may not try; or it could just be the ramblings of a crazed gamer without games who knows.
Thanks for reading!

I am an "old" gamer. Played WOW for 5 years....loved most of my time spent there. I have been playing Rift thru most of the betas and from the founders early release date.

I have enjoyed the game even more that I did since the vanilla WOW. If you enjoy playing all that it has to offer....crafting, exploring, artifact hunting, achievments as well as leveling your going to get much more than you think. If you just want to get to endgame may be a bit disappointed and miss a lot of great game time.

I am sure there will be a lot of different opinions.

Enjoy your gaming and I would give it a 10 score.

games I have played  WOW, Lotro, Aion, Allods, Diablo 1 and 2 And quite a few of the FTP games out there.
