NaktiesKarys has a vault exploding from various stuff. Components for crafting (hutning evil Grulets 100 times untill you get something from them). Trophy tokens (as Lotro’s task items). Crafting formulas I can’t use yet. Armour. jewellery.

After asking Istaria support if it was legal – created a new clone. of course, woman, big and, as they say, BBW. My gosh, life started to be difficult at once. Go and fight 3 grulets – ok, grulet should be no problem. Well, it was for my lvl.3 toon with some second-handed equipment. Had to run from beetles several times. Controls, as I am accustomed to, does not work, but graphic is really improved.

After finishing Spirit isle, went to New Trismus. I k new where to go to, I knew there are new quests- so let’s try. First encounter with skeletons meant disaster: skeletons followed me even through barricades, I was killed and in a bid bad mood. Of course, I probably could ask for help – there was almost a meeting of lvl.100 Dragons – but I did not want to. Guild offered heelp immediately, but I am soloer and will try to solo. After some tries I succeeded, but whole atmosphere in New Trismus was not too encouraging. Everything is ruined, NPCs do nothing to protect town, my skills are inferior to monster’s and I lack money for refurbished equipment.

Money does not rain from heaven, like in Lotro: every single copper is hard to get, too easy to spent. Unless you have an alt – expert in all schools, it could mean too much grind.

After some time I went to Guild House, took some 70 tokens, then logged off, deposited more stuff, logged clone…and so untill some un-needed stuff was transferred. Now my vault has not 3, but some 50 more item space.

Memanwhile, my main toon switched from Tinkerer to Mason: mithril became uneffective to craft and deconstruct. I started to harvest obsidian for our Guild plot. Need to do many manay things quickly if I am to be of any help.

Nothing happened, as usual. Kinship doing raids, suggesting I start ‘improving’ my playstyle, but there is no reason to improve: i am not going to fight in territories higher than lvl.90. Untill then, my skills are more than enough.

And so the wekeend has ended. Experience with clone in Istaria is interesting, although a bit difficult. But life is good after all in Istaria.

did all crafting while I could (and downtime started at some 15:00 Lithuanian time).  harvested tons of maple – maple job done. Finished to Obsidiain: half needed amoutn added, the rest – some 100 out of 120 crafted, though not yet added.

Since this update, New Trismus will be burned, without crafting structures: Archet v.2.0. A bad decision, but once again i feel like players’ voice is not going to developers’ ears.

Anyway, I enjoy crafting in Istaria, I enjoy being abkle to solo-build structures and I like to help others there. When game is online – I will enjoy more and more crafting.

Stormsong tried to fight in Barad Gularan and it was harder than with Champion. Perhabs lvl.92 Minstrel is not yet good for this (but hey, she will not grow up to lvl.93 or 100). NaktiesKarys managed to help two kinnies and farmed Haudth Iarcith for loot. I had some expenses, so wanted to compensate. Looks like I succeeded.

And so the day has ended – not too bad, not too good.

a time to park, a time to craft

Day began with crafting – some 200 slate blocks, then running to add them to one player’s plot. There should be nice flooring and I was willing to aid…but was not able to find an “adding spot”.

In Istaria, building has 4 hotspots, but only one allows you to add things. Good, when building has corners and is not too large. A curse, when building has no visible corners or is large. I looked, I even stepped inside future flooring…and no results. Plot owner tried to locate – and after long searches found the evil hotspot. Then, he quickly added slate.

I continued harvesting to finish one more silo. It required some 300 marble stuff and frew obsidian keystones. Later, I was allowed to use some 6000 obsidian bricks: went to craft missing materials for nearby silos. After all, silos are mostly needed.

Went to Falathien to test local cobalt fields: very, very lame. Too long distance, no chance to understand where to run once you are back in Falathien. Why? Because you have only empty spaces around you, wherever you turn, you see empty lands.

Crafting and aiding made me feel good. Of course, plot owner works very hard, running from field to field, gathering tons of materials. Other Guild members are helping him with this great job. And I will grind my way.

Yeap, we have now “roving threats” – lvl.100 monsters roaming around. Of course, it is logic that lvl.100 monsters are in appropriate lands. They are, indeed – in mostly lvl.40-45 territories. Turbine’s logic is just great and I wonder: what, if I order some purchase from them for 100 $ and pay 40 $ – would they sell me? Or would they explain that forty does not equal one hundred? No doubt, this year we will see lvl.100 near Bree. Ruling 100 players won’t object, opinion of all others does not count (never did).

I am very glad I am not paying customer of Lotro. Would curse myself 100 times for paying a cent. And it can mean only one thing: time to move all toons to a safe grounds (vaults of big towns) so that they are safe.

Kinship was active, doing Deepening wall and later invited me to some Ost… Ost Elendil, if I am not wrong. I declined thinking it was evil Gondor. Well, it wasn’t, but it was still lvl.100 instance where my poor “champion” would be one or -two shot. Declined.

And so the day has ended: kind of good in Istaria and a bit sad in Lotro (but hey, game will experience more decline this year: this is just the begining).

Game was on maintenance – and for the very moment I located a very profitable cobalt field and made as many runs as I could. Harvest – run to vault – deposit ore – repeat. Harvested 2 motherloades and few rich cobalt veins this way before got message “Server is going down after 15 minutes”.

After downtime – resumed cobalt harvesting, made ~200 cobalt jointings, added them to buildings. We talked about building, grinding and other things.

The problem: Istaria developers are going to nerf experience from crafting. To reduce xp from crafting by some 80% and xp from adding stuff to structures – by some 20%. Formally it is balancing, making bipeds similar to Dragon crafters; also they openly state it is to encourage building.

My dear developers, if your car is broken, you could repaint it as many times as you can, you can attack stickers or even change mirrors. Lotro did such mistake and will go down sooner or later. There is no need to nerf biped building schools or drastically cut down experience.

However, I won’t argue with developers on forums: they typically do not listen or pretend not to understand what was in mind. if you need more customers – then think how to attract new ones and not how to substract something from all players. Making things harder would just cause players to leave, not to invest. Little used plots – yes, it’s a problem, should any of developers want to travel on Order server. Offer paying customers to buy as many plots as they can. Or offer tiny plots even to free players. But, no doubt, no one will ever listen to the players: that’s the way modern mmorpgs work.

Since Istaria was down – was forced to be in Lotro. Stormsong turned in task items, Vytautaz turned in task items too. Naktieskarys just stood in Thorins Hall and chatted with kinship. Kinnies are very optimistic about the game: I am not. I see no use of any achievement. Doing all deeds – well, nice, but no point in doing this. Getting top-level armour with top-essences and top statuss weapons – well, nice and impressive, but no point in doing this since I am not going to adventure. Craft schools are top-level, I have top reputation with crafting Guild.

And so the day has ended, a bit grumpy in Istaria and Lotro.

Finally uninstalled. Good-bye, EQ.

Everquest II

If one is to speak about EQ2, first thing to come to head: no such word as “community”. Chats empty, no answers to tells and those who are speaking either “LFG tank lvl,.999″ or something about EQ flirting (“come on, game is NOT online dating service!”). Quests sometimes are unclear – thus probbaly abandoning this game.

A really busy days and I liked it. I took my trustworthy axe and went to chop maple. Chop anything I can take, make boards, deposit to the vault, repeat. First day of grind – some 10.000 boards. Second day was a bit lazy – only ~7500 boards. Then – make construction braces, hundreds of them and add to one plot. One player outperformed me – she grinded ~14.500 logs.

I started to joke about myself, like – “Nak is there for only one purpose”. Some player: “Nak, what’s happening? something bad??”. I – “for only one purpose: more maple!“. Folks laughed, joked – mood was just good.

I enjoy maple grind: vault is nearby, crafting structure is nearby, harvesting is very efficient. All I do now – is writing down numbers on a sheet of paper and later striking through what I have added. Yet I have to make 480 braces for silos alone + some 980 braces for crafting stuctures. Cobalt and obsidian is yet another pain in the neck: but I will do them too.

Istaria is great in crafting and questing. No forced content. Don’t wanna craft – go and fight, there is plenty of stuff to kill. Don’t wanna fight – go and advance all crafting schools and if you have all schools at lvl.100 – go and help players with their plots. I am needed in Istaria, I can and have will to help others.

Logged in, took presents, logged off. Later logged in and helped one kinnie with Sarnur. I just ran, killing stuff: Dourhands (traitors deserve death only), trolls, beasts, one named dragon, worms, goblins. Sometimes we were getting lost, but overlal things were just good. Kinnie was a very good tactician and relaly helped me. Yes, I was acting as typical Champion: hit one mob, hit another, run to group of 2-3 mobs…and then start AoE attacks, all of them. I was happy, I was efficient, I wasn’t losing health, only power. Kinnie fought too, sometimes just ran through mobs to get them to me or just casting various curses (after all, he was a Runekeeper, they are very good at burning enemies slowly from afar).

He did some of his deeds and then I had to go to sleep: it was midnight after all.

Finally uninstalled. Good-bye, Neverwinter.

And so the weekend has ended. I felt satisfied, i felt happy – things are good once again.
