So, I'm talking a lot more than I thought I would on Destiny. I guess that has to do with how many social "experiments" I'm doing thus far, and the people I have met along the way. Though I would like to talk a little more in detail about what actual goes through my mind when playing the game. I work a very easy job, therein I get a lot of free time to think about things rather than the task at hand. I do my hard work, then I get t to "Free think". So, of course what do I think about? Vidya games of course. It used to be spent thinking about Dota 2 strats/League strats, but it had more become about Destiny and FFXIV. (FFXIV because of patch 2.4, and the expansion that was announced). I'm always looking to improve myself in every game I play, and it defiantly comes in handy when you love to theory craft. I mean I do a lot of it, because it makes me think and I think about what I enjoy you know?

There is a lot I could improve on in Destiny, aim, death count, etc. Well, a lower death count that is. Mostly I struggle getting better gear and what not, but besides that it's more about planning. Also, huge nerd alert. I like to watch videos on how the boss is set in the maps, any nooks and crannies I can find where the boss can hit me or the best spot to hide when such and such happens. I have found some, and they usually work out, others just don't. I did this a ton with Gears Of War, I studied like every aspect of the multiplayer of that game. The hours I spent just learning, almost is the amount I actually spent playing... No joke.

So, back to my point while it's slow at work I spend my time thinking about all of this. So, I thought to myself how can I expand my game play of Destiny? I know what I am limited to game play wise, but can I add any special twists to it? Of course I can, but it requires friends, thankfully which I have. (I do have friends). I do anything crazy, like every time I die, I take a shot. (I don't drink, or smoke, or drugs). So it's more of an ego thing between me and my buddies... Who dies the least, who kills the boss, or you know who has the most kills. I started up again whenever I die, I do five push ups, or sit ups. Keeps me calm, and exercise, yay.

I'm sure we have all done what I have talked about a few times, or maybe just once. If not, try it. I love a challenge personally. Sometimes a challenge is what keeps me going, it makes me thrive off something. (Not challenges in real life, LOL). Talking about Gears of War, and Halo. I also did this with my friends, see who could get the most kills in a match/less deaths. It kept everything interesting even though we knew we were playing the same maps, and sometimes the same people.

Don't we all hit that moment in a MMORPG, or even a game in general, and just realize... I'm doing the same thing over again? The same raids, and the same PvP moves, just different people each time? Sure, we can wipe in raids, and do some more fancy stuff in pvp, but isn't it all just the same in the end? When I hit this road, I ask myself, what can I do to improve the game myself? Surely, the game isn't improving itself daily with patches, and the next major update isn't for months, but what can I do as a player?

Maybe I'm just an odd duck for asking myself that. When it comes to Destiny, I just try to improve my game play, master every strike, try to be the top of the leader boards, etc. Silly as it's sounds it works for me, and even though I am playing a grinding type of game, it keeps it fun. Have any of you done something like that? I know I sound like a huge odd duck, but it's what keeps everything in place and fun for me. I don't want Destiny to get boring, and I'm taking steps for that not to happen.

Alright, I apologize this post has been sort of everywhere, but it's 4AM, and God Bless my sleep cycle. For those of you who have done something like what I am doing. What game was it, and what did you do? I would really love to know that I'm not alone here...

Before I end this post, I want to tell you all, I will be conducting some questions with WildStar's Tony Rey soon, and will be posting that here for you all to read, along with another Wildstar Revisited post. (Post Mega-servers, and the impact). I can't wait to share that all with you, it's going to be fun! Until next time! Cheers!

So, to try something different I did a little social experiment on Destiny. I would add random people, and chat with them. I wanted to see how people act/mannerisms. I was very curious if I was playing like I did in my Halo days where it was all a bunch of 14 year olds, telling me to "Go screw yourself". I was pleasantly surprised with some of the people I met and talked to. Maybe it was just the time of day, but I met some really chill people and most of them either gave me advice, or invited me to play with them again. I have played with some of them again, because of how chill they were. Now back in the day, during Halo 2/3, I was a real uh... Dumbass? Pardon my french. I was the typical whiny teenager I guess you could say, that would curse in every sentence because I thought it was cool. Playing with mature people really brought another fun factor to the game, which will lead me to my next point. Being in match making is cool and all, and this point can go with every MMO in existence. (Unless your a strict solo player). Playing with people that are friendly, is just way more fun. We joke and laugh, and make jokes about how we died, or failed. Thinking about to my World Of Warcraft days, I constantly made fun of my tanking fails, and eventually my healing fails, and people found it funny so I just kept with it.

I'm still a clown today, and part of my point as well is... We can't take it seriously all the time. Stuff happens you know? I know some very strict raiding guilds out there in the various MMOs that I have played that I disagree with. Now I guess this is just really personal opinion, but... I hate when people get yelled at, voice or in-game chat. It really irks me, because I used to be a huge jerk as well as being a dumbass, I guess they go hand in hand. It really gets under my skin, and usually I end up saying something about it, and then an fight breaks out sadly. Maybe I wasn't "hardcore" enough for them, or maybe I was seeing it wrong. What do you all say? I mean besides it being flat out awkward. I won't name anyone, but I was watching a World Of Warcraft stream on Twitch, and one of their healers failed or something, and the guy goes bonkers. It was extremely awkward, and even the chat in Twitch was like "Wtf, chill". For people who have had that done to them, or witnessed it. How do you react?

Sorry, off the subject of Destiny. Talking/shooting things go hand and hand for me. After I warm up to people, I can talk your ear off, like I am now in this post. I'm just a person who can talk about anything and everything, so meeting new people used to be hard for me, but not so anymore... Now if it's a girl... Not the same story. On the flip side, I did meet some really rude people as well, who either raged quit, or did what I was just talking about "WTF WHY YOU DIE NOOB". God, that does ring it my ears still. I usually just left the party, or muted them if the other person was chill. I mean I get it, if we are at the last boss, and we all die, it can be very frustrating don't get me wrong. Yelling and degrading people isn't the solution though, I mean... You died as well right? Blind hatred is a scary thing ya'll. I speak a lot about community when talking about a full fledge MMO, but the ignore feature in this game can be so useful, as in a lot of games of course.

The community doesn't make or break this game for me. I'll go into detail why in the next post, but I thought it would be cool to talk about my little experiment I did. I'll talk about one more thing before I end this post, it is off-topic as well.

FFXIV is released Patch 2.4 next week. I will be going back to the game, and playing the new class. Along with Destiny posts you will see FFXIV posts as well. You should see the first back to FFXIV post around Tuesday, or Thursday depending on how much school work I get done, and real life things. I may or may not have a life. Who knows at this point.  Also the VoG stream will probably be happening next Friday, I will let you know, I did some test streams and my internet seemed to hold up pretty well, when I was wired, so that should be good to go. Have a good one ya'll. Cheers!

Note: Another really late blog. There will be errors, and shortness. God bless my sleep cycle. For real.

I've been meeting more and more people from match making and have become friends with a few of them. Doing weekly stuff, and just strikes. (Still not have had enough people to do VoG). All in all it's been a healthy time in Destiny. One of the main things I was concerned about, and I mentioned this in my first post about Destiny is the lack of content to talk about. It is a grindy game after all. It's not that I have nothing to talk about, it's just I'm having a hard time finding things you all would enjoy reading about. It is also hard to not seem like I'm bragging when it comes to PvP, and other cool things I've been doing. I don't want to come off that way at all, you know?

Eventually down the road I will probably make another character/class. Not out of boredom, but I would like to know what other classes have to offer. I do love my Hunter though, Golden Gun is a blast. One thing I've noticed and love about the game so far, is that I don't keep track of time. What I mean is that like... I started playing at 1, and ended at 4. I didn't think three hours have past, because I am so focused on what's going on. It's an intense game, PvP, and PvE. The game has it's easy moments and it's very challenging moments. It's often a mixture of both during game time.

I can see why Destiny got a lot of low reviews upon release, and afterwards. I'm not going to mention names/people. I go back to the point where I had no intention of playing the game, because it was console, and I didn't buy into the hype. God knows I love Bungie. Reddit, and other various sites hate on the game, rather than talk about the good in the game. (I know Reddit is a place of complaints sometimes, but Jesus). Could it have been better though? It's a question asked about every game, and it varies. It's a wide question as well. My answer is of course yet it could be, but they have time to improve. DLC/Updates, whatever they do. Then the question that should be presented is... Shouldn't the game have been released with the updates we talked about? Story, etc etc.

I honestly don't know how to answer that. Is there such a thing as to much starting out content? I mean, I would love a deeper, and a lasting story, but I liked what I saw. I would love better RNG, because screw me. Everything can be complained about, it's just a waiting game for Destiny, and the players now. I have no reason to doubt Bungie's ability to make this game stronger than before. I'm not whatsoever concerned for the game's future. I have no reason to be right now. If I am given a reason, I may start to panic. If you could change Destiny? How would you, and why?

I'm going to leave you all with that question. Have a good one. Cheers!

Note: It's 1:30AM, Post will be shorter than most, sorry. Can't sleep, deciding to write instead.

I've been playing Destiny constantly since I've last posted, and I must say I haven't gotten bored with it yet. Almost light 25. Haven't touched Vault of Glass yet because my college buddies haven't be able to do it with me yet, so I am holding off on pugging it. I know, I know I'm playing the same content over and over again. Isn't that late game though? I'd be doing the same thing if it was Diablo 3, World Of Warcraft, or whatever. The story for Destiny was short as hell though, which was kind of disappointing, but I didn't really play the game for the story sorry!

It's like the same for Diablo III, and Path Of Exile. The story is an addition to the game play for me. I don't read the lore, or you know story like things. Maybe that's a terrible way of looking at that, but for me it's an added addition. For instance, I played The Last of Us for the story/adventure. The game had an amazing story line, and it really developed a relationship with me, and kept me going. The game play was alright, but the story line drove me to play. I look at Destiny the exact opposite. I'm not really playing for the lore/story line. I'm playing to kick some ass, whether it be alien, or human ass. I don't play Halo, or Call of Poop for the story line either. It's the game play that drives me. It's driving me pretty hard as well, I cannot get enough of this game. *Rose tinted glasses activate*.

Sorry enough of the praise. I do get aggravated with the game believe it or not. *Gasp*. I don't think RNG likes me in this game, and it's sort of the same with every action game. Because screw me right? God bless. I think I have gotten maybe 3 legendary engrams, and 1 for my class, and 2 for other classes. Now sure it's great that I got one for me, but I feel like, the game toys with me, and other people. Oh my god, legendary engram? TO BAD ITS NOT FOR YOU. It's like a huge slap to the face. It's like that in any MMO I guess. It did it to me in FFXIV as well. Oh you need these class specific boots? To bad, so sad, suck it up fatty. That's how I feel the game speaks to me when I don't get what I want. Wahhbulance please.

Desync is also a huge issue, I won't get into desync because I've already explained it in previous posts, but it comes with Action games/mmos. It's just part of the package, so I've gotten used to it. The effing random disconnects though? (Note, that they did patch the game, and there are less of them now.) OH YOUR ABOUT TO KILL THE LAST BOSS? Nope, sorry disconnect. "You have been removed from the game world). My god, the rage has ensued on my computer desk. If it was a person, I'd probably be in jail for like 3 counts of murder. For real. Everyone gets upset, so don't be like "Oh my god calm down" NO YOU CALM DOWN.

Anyways... I am going to be streaming my first run through of the Vault of Glass, and I will tweet it before I go live, if anyone is interesting in seeing my crying while I fail. It's a pretty good show, I should probably charge people. It's just like a train wreck of fails, while you hear a grown man cry. Wouldn't you pay to see that? It doesn't make you a terrible person if you want to I promise. Action MMOs/Games tend to bring out the worst in me. Every week I play with my IRL brother in Path Of Exile and when I die, World War 3 Erupts for about 3 minutes until I calm down. Same thing in Destiny.

For those of you who play Destiny, when you see teammates try to melee the three boss flayers, and all die... Feel my pain please. I had to do that three times in a row, and my teammates thought it'd be a great idea to do that. FEEL MY PAIN PLEASE. Anyways, that's enough from me. Until next time!

After long thinking about what game to write about next, I came to my decision... Destiny! It's a console MMO, and I am sure you all have heard of it. In this post I am just going to give my first impressions. Each of them I went out and bought the Destiny bundle for the PS4. I was looking for something new and exciting. The game has 3 classes, Hunter, Warlock, and Titan. having sub classes as well. The most important part of the game for me so far, is the time consuming fun. Sure it's a sort of grind fest, but I haven't gotten bored with it. (Maybe it's because I am always with my friends, most of the time at least)

(The reason I got it for the PS4, and not the Xbone, was because my college buddies all have it for the PS4). For those of you who don't know about Destiny. It was created by Bungie, the people behind the Halo Franchise, and published by Activision. As of right now it is a console only game. (360, Xbone, Ps3, Ps4). There will probably be a PC release in the future, but I am not for sure on that. So why did I chose Destiny as my next game of choice? Well, a lot of my college buddies talk very highly of it, and have explained to me enough information for me to go out and buy a new system, and the game. (Bundle). My first few story missions were a blast, I haven’t played a console FPS since battlefield 3 for the xbox 360. So it was a new, but very familiar experience. I don’t think I would call Destiny a full blown MMO, I would probably call it MMO-Lite. Why exactly? Well, it’s not as massive as you could say FFXIV, or World Of Warcraft. Sure you have raids, and you can find random people during the maps and missions, but it’s nothing like going to a full Stormwind during peak hour.

Nevertheless the game is a ton of fun so far. “Josh it’s just your normal grinder: Sure is. I play the game for the fun factor, even if the game is a grinder, if the fun factor is there, I sure as hell will play it. I’m writing this in a different style to test it out and see if I like it better than the old way. Apologies if this post seems scrambled and misplaced a lot. I’m still improving on it. As you know I don’t really join hype trains anymore, due to the fact that it mostly leads on to the downfall of a game, and didn’t live up to the hype. All of my college buddies feel like the game was a huge let down, because they followed the hype train, and you know the believed it. Most of the people actually feel like that. Luckily I didn’t, and I sort of knew what to expect, but at the same time I didn’t. I hope you follow me on that. So I have my friends who talk highly of the game, then the people who are all “Eh” about it, and then the people that hate it. I don’t fall into a one of those right now, but I will say I am really loving the game as it is right now.

I guess you could say I’m used to the grind, not because I play a lot of MMOs, but I play a lot of Diablo III, and Path Of Exile. Known action RPGs, that have that repetition of a grinding game. If a grinding game such as these games have the fun, challenging factor then I can be okay with the grinding. (It goes a little different with full fledge MMOs of course). My final question I asked myself for I end this post is how much content am I going to be able to write about a grinding game? I guess it comes down to what I nit pick out of drafts and such. I think i’m going to do more live streaming rather than talking about the game. (On twitch). I still will write enough blogs to get my writing needs in, but I think I will be streaming when I do raids/strikes. I’ll let you all know down the road on what’s going down, and where it’s going down at.

My questions to you all though, is… Have you played Destiny? If so, what system, and what is your opinion on the game? Bad or good, I would love to hear what you all have to say about the game. Even if you haven’t played it and watched someone else play, please give your opinion. Till next time! Cheers!
