The Gaming Daily #3: Death To Overhyping

What's up everyone and welcome back to another Gaming Daily blog! I first want to apologize for the lack of updates as I've been busy with my family planning my wedding that is coming up in August. So if you remember last weeks blog, and have rage quit that current game because of the zero progress your making. Don't be alarmed about this, Your not the first person to do this and probably not the last. I'm going to give you guys my thoughts on what you should probably do when looking for a new MMORPG to play and occupy your time with.

First off, Don't listen to the hype. For way too long people have been overhyping non released games such as Guild Wars 2, The Secret World and many others. My advice is to not listen to what other gamers are saying. You are your own person and you need to make the decision for yourself. If you were to listen to everything that people were saying about the games that are coming out, and preorder them, You would have a stack full of games sitting on your shelf collecting dust because they didn't come to par with your standards.

With games like Star Wars: The Old Republic and Neverwinter, The option for beta was open to you and this is something I strongly suggest doing. If you find out about a game that has perked your interest, See if they are offering beta. For example,  I tested out Rift and found that it was basically a World Of Warcraft clone. Did it make me interested? Yes I did all the research I could on the game and played what I could in the beta. Did I buy the game? No, I made no intention of buying the game due to it being WAY too close to World Of Warcraft.

If you aren't given the oppurtunity to play in the beta or given a demo, then I would recommend looking out on Twitch.TV to see if anyone is streaming the game. I personally watched Lore from Tankspot play "Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning" for about 8 hours before I made my decision of buying the game. I did download the demo that was up for free and I enjoyed that very much but I wanted to see what the game was going to offer me in full. I also had watched him play the upcoming MMO "Tera" and found that his views were totally different from mine.

To make a long story short for you guys, It's not up to the community but up to you. I've seen far too many MMO's that are released and end up flopping because of people are overhyping the games. I played Age Of Conan without hearing ANY hype or dislike of the game and made up my own mind about it. I believe that more and more gamers need to start doing this or we are going to see potentially great games being destroyed because it didn't live up to the hype of the community.

That's it for now guys, I'm off to work on some really great stuff coming  your way and I hope you guys agreed with me on these topics. If you guys have any questions you would like answered here in the blog, You can email me at:
