Current Push Back Titles = Reveune Boost? Maybe?

Activision has got the title of the year on deck with Modern Warfare 2. I can't think of a single title recently that has been this hyped and looked forward to, since Halo 3 and like Halo 3 we are going to see 3 editions of this title sold. The regular, the harden, and the prestigue editions.

Now there is one BIG difference between the two titles. Halo was a sept release and MW2 is in nov. At first you think, ok? Your point? Well the point is this is JUST before christmas. We are talking about 45 days roughly. So normally that would mean 6 huge titles all in the same day (like last year during Assassin's creed launch.) The problem is MW2 is TOO BIG. It has made A LOT of publishers push back AAA titles into Q1 of 10. Even Activision themselves have pushed back some other titles to avoid clashing with MW2.

The problem in the past is Nov is ALWAYS a huge release month. Two years ago I picked up 11 NEW RELEASE games in that one month alone and roughly 5 last year. The hardcore are trained to save ALL year for this one month, yet most people don't. Most people will pick up one or two they think best and maybe pick up the others later on down the road, probably a used copy or something cheap like that.

Q1 is always known for a very dry quarter. Fresh off christmas, publishers have very little to push and Q2 is too close to Q3 for any BIG releases. Due to the hype around MW2, we are seeing A LARGE list of AAA titles pushed into Q1 and possibly Q2.

Guys, I am so very pumped for gaming next year and MW2 has A LOT to be thanked for. The hype around this title has secured a handful of AAA titles ALL year round for 2010. We won't have to sit around half a year waiting for closer to christmas time. We can expect multiple AAA titles every quarter of next year. This is going to draw HUGE sales for multiple retailers across the nation and possibly increase time frames to put items on sale.

Anyone agree with me on this?
