During PAX Prime in Seattle at the end of August, we caught up with the NCsoft teams to chat about progress on localizing Blade & Soul, the Wuxia-themed MMORPG due out this Winter. During the show, we learned that not only is beta due to begin at the end of October, but the game is officially going to launch in the first quarter of 2016.
October 30th until November 1st will be the first English language test, with German and French versions scheduled to begin on November 24th.
We also learned at the show that the Founder's Packs will not only get a bevy of already announced goodies (as evidenced here), but we found out what the two unique costumes and special hat are for the folks who buy the top end Master Pack at $124.99. One outfit is a fittingly Western cowboy look, while the other is a very snazzy white and gold traditional Eastern looking silk attire. The hat, of course, is a sharp looking cowboy hat that'll have you all doing your best John Wayne impressions.
Additionally, for those who unlock name reservation with the Disciple and Master packs, not only will you be able to reserve your prized online moniker, but the name reservation period comes complete with total character customization. Those of you who obsess over the tiny details of your Lyn's looks will have plenty of time to toy with the bits and bobbles before the head start begins.

Players are going to have a ton of fun with the game and given that our aim is to create the best gaming experience possible, we can’t wait to get more player feedback and implement it in the final stages of development ahead of launch.”
