The Sorceress is considered by many as a difficult class to master since she is not a typical caster class and she could be considered a “glass cannon. She is a strong mid-range melee class with a ton of mobility that allows her to jet in and out of combat and escape danger when needed but overall she has very low defense balanced by incredible burst damage.
Black Desert Online is a unique MMO in many ways. Pearl Abyss’ design team has taken a lot of the traditional MMORPG elements and seemingly turned them on their head to make a game of non-confirmative systems that feels like an experiment in a lot of ways. One such system is known as Contribution, and today we’ll take a look at the CP system, what it is, how it works, and why it’s key to your progression and enjoyment of the game.
In just a couple more days, the gates to Black Desert Online will be open to all, not just pre-order head start buyers. There are loads of systems in BDO that need explaining, but one that often goes overlooked is the skill system and what skills each class should focus on when just starting out. Today, we’re bringing you a quick beginner’s guide for all the Ranger players out there who want to know the best way to fill enemies full of arrows.
Crafting in Black Desert Online can be an intimidating and complicated affair. In most recent MMORPGs players collect 100 of x and 100 of y then go AFK while they combine materials and come back an hour later at the new crafting cap. This does not hold true for BDO. In BDO crafting is separated into collecting, processing, and finally crafting. A slightly more complicated affair than what some are used to.
For those Black Desert Online players who prefer a front line tank that wears heavy armor, with the ability to aggro and hold piles of enemies and that has the ability to be a utility (albeit a lightweight) to other players, a survivable, durable presence, a CC-specialist and do some damage in the process, the Valkyrie may be the class of choice.
The PVP in Black Desert Online is one of the game’s main selling points. But it’s not just about queuing up for an arena and smacking faces. There’s a whole lot that goes on behind the scenes of the Siege System in BDO, but fear not - our own Steven Messner compiled this guide to help you on your way!
Combat is central to many things in Black Desert Online, but it extends well beyond just killing monsters. While some might find the lack of traditional endgame disconcerting, that's only because Black Desert Online is much more akin to EVE Online than World of Warcraft. In place of a never-ending string of raids, the true heart of Black Desert Online lives within its robust and expansive PVP system.
Getting a mount in Black Desert Online is, like most everything in the game, not all that simple. Unless you're flush with cash and are willing to buy a horse from the market, or if you don't mind the meandering pace of the donkey you'll receive early in the game, getting your own horse is going to require some preparation and a little bit of luck. Fortunately, we've rounded up everything you need to set off and find yourself a black stallion to call your own.
Black Desert is outright gorgeous. There’s no denying that. But now, close to the game’s western launch in 2016, we are finally able to find out if there’s more to BDO than its good looks. Our own Bill Murphy has been diving into the Closed Beta and has some thoughts to share on precisely that topic.
