Daum has announced that players holding pre-order packages for Black Desert Online can begin reserving character names beginning at 10:00 am Pacific / 1:00 pm Eastern. Name reservation is accomplished via a dedicated page. Those still looking to buy a pre-order package have until February 26th to do so with name reservation and automatic entry into the second CBT included.
The Black Desert Online site has been updated with a notification to players who preordered the game. Beginning Tuesday, February 9th, those with preorder packages will be able to reserve their character names in preparation for launch in March. Preorder packages will remain available until February 26th.

Daum has a pair of great news items for fans of the forthcoming game. Black Desert Online is set to be released on March 3rd and players have until February 26th to secure preorders that will expire after that date. In addition, today is the start of the registration period for the second closed beta that will begin on February 18th and end on February 22nd. Explorer and Conqueror package owners will be automatically granted access.
The Daum EU team is off to a fantastic start with the arrival of its downloadable character creation tool that allows players to utilize the same customization tool to make the perfect character that can later be imported into the beta or into the released game.
Daum Games has announced that the second closed beta event will kick off on February 18th with Explorer and Conqueror pack owners automatically able to participate. In addition, a new standalone character creator is available as of today. Characters created with the new tool will be able to be imported into Black Desert Online on launch and to CBT2 as well.
The first major news for North America's and Europe's version of Black Desert Online has arrived and it's got some big ticket items of interest to the community.

The Black Desert Online forum has been updated with a long list of improvements to the EU / NA version of the game in direct response to player feedback. Of particular note is the fact that energy potions will not be part of the cash shop, though players will be able to visit an NPC to trade unused energy into a potion that can then be sold / traded on the marketplace.
One thing that everyone here at MMORPG.com seems to agree on, with regards to Black Desert, Devilian, TERA, and other imported MMOs, is that gender locking classes is an unwanted practice. As a player, you either have to come to accept it, or refuse to play what could be your preferred class. In a genre that’s original intent was to let you play the character of your complete choosing, locking classes behind certain genders seems in opposition of that intent.
Black Desert Online has a lot of Open World dungeons and this is by far the hardest one of them all. You'll see why! LOL at that jump fail, almost got rekt.
