On March 4th, XBox One players will finally be able to play Black Desert thanks to its official launch. Early Access will be available to those who preorder and its length will be based on the package purchased. Preorder packages are available starting today.
The Black Desert Online forum has been updated with the latest patch notes. Anchoring today's update, players will find the new DIY Snowman event that will run through January 16th. "During the event period, defeat monsters, fish and gather to get event items which you can manufacture into the Winter Snowman full of cool rewards".
Pearl Abyss has announced that XBox One players will be able to preorder Black Desert starting January 7th. Pricing and launch features will be revealed the same day that packages become available for purchase. Developers stated that the open beta held in November was successful and that Black Desert will be launching as the "first comprehensive MMORPG experience on a console, built from the ground-up for XBox One".
For Black Desert Online players who rolled the recently-released Archer class, it's time for the Ascension Mission arc now that it's rolled into the game. For those without an Archer, the holiday spirit has descended into BDO for lots of wintry fun.
The Archer will shoot into Black Desert Online after tomorrow's update. During the celebratory in-game event, players can win items and even get a chance to win an Alienware 15 gaming laptop. During the next three days, fans can also check out a number of streams that are Archer-themed.
Over the past weekend, the Black Desert Online development team announced that it is working on a new battle royale survival mode for the game. Each of the mode's 50 players begin the fight as a Black Spirit, then must work to find a "fallen adventurer and possess it". From there, it's off to destruction of nearby crates and defeating mobs to gather up materials, equipment and abilities. As is the norm for battle royale games, the last player standing is declared the winner.

On December 1st, Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss will be hosting a Black Desert Online community event in South Korea. Called "Festa", the event is designed to show off content currently in development and that will be released over the coming months. While the event is being held in South Korea, the keynote will be livestreamed and subtitled in English to allow western fans to be in on the news as it breaks, including the release date of the Archer.
There's more to explore after today's release of the new Drieghan zone in Black Desert Online. Players will find over three hundred new quests, nodes to conquer and the new dragon world boss, Garmoth. Once defeating Garmoth, players will obtain his Horn loot that can be traded for a baby dragon pet named Gerson.
From now through November 12th, XBox One players can try out Black Desert thanks to its arrival into open beta. The open beta is free to download and play for any XBox One member. A copy can be found on the Microsoft Store. Players will need to ensure nearly 25GB of hard drive space in order to complete the download.

The Black Desert Online forum has a post that contains an ongoing timeline of a DDOS attack on game servers that started in the wee hours of the morning. Approximately 20 minutes ago, BDO staff revealed that measures have been implemented to combat the DDOS, though it remains unknown if the issues are solved at this time.
After months of waiting since the announcement that Black Desert Online would be coming to XBox One, it seems that it is finally happening. Players have started receiving emails indicating that the BDO XBox One open beta will start on November 8th.
Now that the details have been straightened out between former Black Desert Online Russian publisher GameNet and Pearl Abyss regarding game data, it appears that players can now begin the transfer process. According to a post on the brand new Black Desert Online site, the new version will be live starting November 22nd. Up to that time, players can apply to have their characters transferred.
