The Russian version of Black Desert Online hangs in the balance. The official RU BDO forum has a new post from the team that informs players that the contract with Pearl Abyss ends on October 12th and that, while negotiations are still ongoing between GameNet and Pearl Abyss, servers may go offline on that date pending a restart "outside the platform". At this time there is no word on how the discussions between the two companies is going.
An FAQ has been posted that provides information to the current player base (via Google Translate):
- the fate of the RU version is in the hands of Pearl Abyss
- GameNet "guarantees the safety of character" data up to the 12th. After that date, the determination of what data, if any, will be retained lies in the hands of PA.
- Premium Server subscriptions have stopped pending a decision on the RU version's fate.
- GameNet Coins (premium currency) can be transferred to other games.
