Big Changes Aimed at Reducing Player Stress & Inconvenience

Big Changes Aimed at Reducing Player Stress & Inconvenience -

The latest producer's letter has been published on the official site. In it, Executive Producer Jae-Hee Kim details some of the changes coming to Black Desert Online as early as next week. "We understand that there is still room for improvement despite our effort to deliver the best gaming experience." Kim writes. "We...understand that we must step out of our comfort zone in order to usher in changes." From there, players are informed of a number of significant changes.

Here are the basics:

  • item weight is being reduced to "decrease the stress adventurers receive in the beginning stages of leveling up". There will still be a weight penalty, but a less-significant one
  • Fort and Command Posts will be able to be purchased from a guild vendor and, once a site is identified, will complete its own construction within one hour. "[The] construction feature will reduce the inconvenience and stress that comes from choosing fort construction".
  • rare item drops are, according to devs, less exciting when they drop than before. To make it more of a "ZOMG" moment, when items like Basilisk's Belt and Ring of Crescent Guardian drop, they will have a chance to drop with a PRI or DUO enhancement. This means players will no longer have to perform enhancement.

Although we are constantly working to develop more hunting zones and monsters, we will also keep in mind to bring back the enjoyment that comes from hunting.

There is going to be more information in next week’s patch notes. However, we wanted to briefly highlight some of the exciting changes that we plan to implement.

Read more details on the Black Desert Online site.

Thanks for the tip, WNxbadboy3!
