Black Desert Online Articles
If there's one piece of criticism I continually see popping up around Black Desert Online, it's that the PVP is horribly imbalanced due to "power creep". No matter how much you play, you'll never catch up to the top 1% who have already invested significant chunks of time and energy into forging all the best gear and pushing beyond the soft level cap of 50. Now, reading that, this is usually followed up with "You should probably not even bother trying." But here's where I disagree.
Black Desert Online players looking for even more to do will be thrilled to hear that the Media expansion will indeed be arriving today after maintenance is complete. According to the site, there will be over a thousand new quests and a 30% larger game world.
Black Desert Online will be expanding as early as March 30th. Called the Mediah update, the content will see the game world expand by 30%, include a thousand new quests, new guild missions, new 40v40 skirmishes, new weapons, alchemy modes, new weapons and more powerful armor sets to name but a few.
I remember when playing Dark Age of Camelot that one of my favorite ‘dungeons’, Spindelhalla, was a non-instanced location set in the open game world. As a classic dungeon alongside other locations such as Nisse’s Lair or Darkness Falls it demonstrated that there isn’t always a need to instance a location in order for it to be fun and functional.
A new post from the Daum team has shown up on the Black Desert Online forum to inform players that the gifting option from the Cash Shop has been shut down. According to the post, this was done "due to abuse and credit card fraud by third parties (gold sellers and others)". The post further indicates that those who have been flagged as taking part will be 'sanctioned accordingly'.
Now that he has had time to delve into the game, TheHiveLeader gives his impressions on the North American version of Black Desert. Black Desert Online is a sandbox MMORPG from Pearl Abyss. BDO is an MMORPG that features castle sieging, trading, crafting, player housing, parkour, animal husbandry, investment banking, fishing, cooking, carpentry, and loads more. Players will enjoy jaw-dropping graphics, intuitive skill-based combat, and and immersive story encased in an expansive world just
As of the March 23 Patch, you can now breed pets in the NA/EU version of Black Desert Online. We are using the new Korean pet breeding system which Korea just received a week ago. By reading this guide, I assume you know the difference between pet levels, tiers, special skill, and buffs. If not then you should consult this guide.
As I round up on yet another week with Black Desert Online I’m no closer to my goal of hitting at least level 45 before assigning a score… and it’s not for lack of trying. Black Desert’s a game that’s custom built to mess with anyone who has the slightest propensity for attention deficit disorder and well… what was I talking about again?
In case there isn't yet enough to do in Black Desert Online, Daum has some pretty cool new activities to fill up those empty moments. With yesterday's update came a new Easter event where players attempt to collect five different types of Easter eggs to exchange for a special egg or a furniture item.
The Black Desert Online team has posted a short notice to players that the game will be down for maintenance on Wednesday, March 23rd for approximately eight hours during which network improvements in bandwidth and latency will be addressed. This downtime also includes the forum and website.
The Korean version of Black Desert Online will be updated on March 24th with the Vakyrie awakened weapon. To show off how impressive this looks and performs, the team has released a new video that you can check out below and dream of the day it arrives in the EU/NA version of Black Desert Online.
Some friends and I were discussing Black Desert Online earlier this week and we eventually began to chat about the wider genre and how, seemingly, many people have grown tired of the typical formulae surrounding “theme parks”. My brother, who rarely plays MMO’s any longer, asked why I thought Black Desert Online had been so well received.
In a recent community Q&A the team revealed that it is looking to deploy small to medium sized updates on a "near monthly" basis. Other points of interest include the fact that the team did not fully expect the amount of interest in the game; that they're looking at other ways to communicate with players; the ghillie suit is being given a look as well as the 'flare' counter-measure; and no ETA on when new classes will appear, though they may show up in a different order than Korea.
I’m going to level with you guys. I still don’t know what the frak I’m doing in Black Desert Online. I’ve played/logged well over 90 hours since head start and I haven’t even gotten to the first major city. My twitter followers laughed at me when I remarked how big and confusing Heidel seemed. If there’s one reason I think BDO is having such a wonderful effect on my beleaguered MMO-playing heart, it’s because the game really does make you learn how to play all over again.
Black Desert Online has been updated with a fairly beefy patch that addresses chat bans, some skill alterations for Witch/Wizard, a new holiday event that coincides with St. Patrick's Day, and lists out several new items in the in-game shop.
