  • Trion Worlds at PAX South 2017: The Past, Present, and Future of ArcheAge and Atlas Reactor

It's been a rough past few months for Trion Worlds. How rough? So rough that another gaming news website needs a “Mess Roundup” page to try and keep up with all the problems and negative news surrounding one of its titles.

  • Loot Boxes Are Never a Good Thing

My good colleague, Billy Murphy, early last week wrote about five things we should stop complaining about. The fifth entry was random reward lootboxes and out of the entire list, I will never - as long as I draw breath - stop complaining about these. • Scott Hartsman: Atlas Reactor, Lootboxes, Rift and the Changing Economy of Games

Scott Hartsman of Trion Worlds is one of gaming’s most open and candid CEO’s. During PAX West 2016, he and I sat down to discuss Trion Worlds’ games, past, present, and future. We found two chairs, and went off the rails into all manner of uncharted discussions.

  • Chasing the Story

Several weeks back I had the chance to go to London to preview some Atlas Reactor gameplay and meet two of the minds behind it, Executive Producer Pete Ju and Lead Designer William Cook. Shortly after that, Trion were off to Gamescom and myself and Pete managed to catch up again along with Community Manager Joe “Muzzy” Brogno.

  • Loads to Look Forward to in Closed Beta

Atlas Reactor is ready to blast off into the stratosphere that is closed beta testing later today. We had the chance to preview some of the new things players can expect to find when entering CBT and to chat with Senior Producer James Karras and Lead Designer William Cook to learn even more.

  • Trion Hosting Alpha Sneak Peek

Atlas Reactor is my kind of competitive game. For one, you don’t need crazy APM or ridiculous reflexes. You just need to be good at thinking on your feet and you have to have a strategic state of mind that you can tap into. Trion Worlds’ new turn-based tactical team combat game looks and plays excellently, and the Bay Area team is ready to let the masses try it out…
