The second in a series of video developer diaries from the Ashes of Creation team has arrived, this time providing a behind-the-scenes look at the technology underpinning the creation of buildings. Devin Lafontaine and Steven Sharif discuss the tools being used to design buildings and "how it will affect players".

The Ashes of Creation team has posted a new blog that reveals a new armor set called the Regalia of the Iron Lion, symbolic of a new order that wants to "control the unknowable". It comes with its own story and a number of pieces including the Cuirass of the Pride, Aegis of Fangs, and the Dawnclaw Wand.

Intrepid Studios has announced that there are now official Ashes of Creation forums now live on the site. In addition, the team has posted a lengthy note about the process of adding forums to the new site that simultaneously allowed posters to bring their accounts over. Fans will need to log in using their Intrepid account and will need to reclaim their old forum display name.

Continuing its examination of the Ashes of Creation Node System, the developers have published a new post that reveals a very specific type: Scientific Nodes. It is a node type that is "special in comparison to the others". Scientific Nodes appear in three locations throughout the game world, specifically around locations that "focus the Essence" that flows throughout. These nodes will feature "sprawling questlines and rewards for crafters, gatherers" and others.

In case you missed it, the Ashes of Creation team took to the airwaves late last week to spend some time answering community questions about the node system that has been the subject of several blog posts on the official site. The team covered a number of topics related to nodes including the parent/vassal node system, travel between nodes and more about the node destruction system.

Intrepid Studios is continuing its deep dive into the Ashes of Creation node system with a new video today that speaks to the technology behind nodes. Senior Environment Artist Tad Ehrlich and Creative Director Steven Sharif "go over why the tool was created, and how it will affect the player as they explore" the game world.

Continuing with its instructional series about nodes, the Ashes of Creation site has been updated with a new look at the advancement and destruction of nodes. The post starts with a brief look at how nodes are advanced and built up and what things they can influence such as, for instance, development areas where towns and civilization will appear.

The Ashes of Creation team has kicked off a series of "Know Your Nodes" articles that will provide players with deep information about one of the game's more unique systems. In this first article, the basics of nodes are explained along with information about how they function in AoC.

The Ashes of Creation site has been updated with a new post called "10 Facts About Castle Sieges". These battles "are intended to be massive events with hundreds of people involved in a single Siege". The latest event saw over 200 players taking part though the team has set the goal to be "the largest organized PvP battles in any MMORPG".

The Ashes of Creation team has posted a lengthy new blog looking ahead at 2019 and the plans it has to be more proactive with showing off the game. Every month, the team will showcase new art, articles and a video. This month, for instance, the team will be taking an in-depth look at the node system. In addition, plans are in motion for a new developer diary video series that will focus on most of the games systems and stream events will be held on the last Thursday of every month.

The Ashes of Creation team was on hand yesterday for a live stream event and has posted the replay on YouTube. "Glorious MMO Fans, we wanted to show you an update with some early Alpha gameplay from the MMORPG. Alpha One starts soon for Verra!! This footage is an early look at preparing for Alpha One, and has still some placeholder UI and the hybrid combat system has not been constructed yet. Intrepid Studios has announced that its stand alone title, Ashes of Creation Apocalypse, will be launching into open beta on December 18th for Windows PC. Apocalypse is a standalone game for those who enjoy competitive play pitting themselves against other players. Apocalypse will feature a battle royale mode for up to 100 players duking it out to be the last one standing. Post-launch, Intrepid plans to launch a 200-player castle siege mode, co-op horde missions and much more.

During a live stream event yesterday, Intrepid Studios wowed viewers with the news that "Alpha One, Phase One" is being renamed as Ashes of Creation: Apocalypse, a stand-alone F2P portion of the game that will launch for everyone to try out in December. The castle siege, horde and battle royale modes will be moving off to become separate from Ashes of Creation the MMO. Current backers are enjoying a month's head start on Apocalypse, but everyone can expect a chance to try it soon.

The Ashes of Creation team was on hand on September 27th for a live stream event and community Q&A. During the event, it was revealed that the stress test is ongoing through October 5th when the NDA will lift. In addition, devs spoke about the battle royale mode and how it is "loosely built into the lore of Ashes of Creation".
