Craft 2.0 Update -

Over the past few weeks, members of the Asheron's Call 2 crafting team have been anonymously penning updates regarding Craft 2.0.  Going by the name, "Mysterious Crafting Guy", these authors are giving AC2 players a peek into the next crafting system.  The latest diary is available in the AC2 forums.

One of the primary worries of crafters is that players will not want our crafted goods. Vanguarders are determined this will not happen. The implications of ensuring this whilst keeping loot fun have been widespread. Citan will be making a major announcement regarding this in the near future. Due to this I'm not going to be mentioning balancing and stats any further in today's diary

We want Craft 2.0 to help develop the player economy. Part of this is making crafting resources into tradable goods. Craft 2.0 is designed to promote economy and player interaction. At lower levels crafting advancement will be quick, and you will be able to gather materials to self-craft with a bit of effort. Every crafting profession will have starter tools available.

This changes, though, as you advance in crafting and require larger and larger amounts of traits to manufacture items. It is not expected that high-level crafters will be self-sufficient and still be able to make items every day. But a group of crafters working together will fare a lot better.

Craft 2.0 is scheduled for a June launch.  To read all the diaries, visit the AC2 crafting forums here.  More about Asheron's Call 2 may be found at the AC2 homepage.
