ArcheAge players have an opportunity to have their epic stories immortalized in the game thanks to a new contest offered by Trion. Players can submit their stories of their battle prowess or perhaps a tale of a heartbreaking loss or even yarns about epic exploration or political intrigue while building their nations. Submissions have a chance to be placed as an in-game tome "for future generations of adventurers to read" and players will earn a special title for their efforts.

Trion Worlds has announced that ArcheAge 5.0 "Relics of Hiram" will launch on October 24th. Players will find a huge expansion that brings new locations to explore, gear to collect and enemies to fight. The anticipated Maledication skill set will also be part of 5.0 and adds 45 new dark magic class combinations for players to master.

Trion Worlds will be celebrating the fourth anniversary of ArcheAge with the Water Gun Festival to earn Kyrios Badges and Hiram Infusions. In addition, from September 12th through September 26th, players will receive a free 500 Labor Pot each day.

Trion Worlds is giving ArcheAge players plenty of notice ahead of a server "evolution" coming to both North American and European servers on October 17th to "better balance populations". While the details are somewhat slim at the moment, the plan is to release a comprehensive FAQ sometime next week.

Relics of Hiram is the next major ArcheAge update that will be coming to live servers later this fall. Of particular note, players will find the new Western Hiram Mountains with new challenges for endgame players. In addition, players will find 45 new class combinations thanks to the Malediction skillset that "allows players to use powerful dark magic to exploit their enemies' weaknesses while empowering themselves". Lastly, a new tier of Hiram gear is waiting to be found.

ArcheAge Senior Producer Merv "Khrolan" Lee Kwai has taken to the game's official forums to reassure the community. Despite last week's layoffs that included Associate Producer Seraphina Brennan and QA Member Jessica Pate, and the unrelated departure of Community Manager Joe Brogno, the rest of the ArcheAge team is still hard at work on the game. "[E]ven during times of trial, we remain focused on the next big milestone," Kwai wrote. More will be shared "as soon as possible".

The ArcheAge forum has a new post with the patch notes for the July update that includes some pretty awesome stuff. One of the coolest things is that players can now head to either Marianople or Austera to view some works of art created by other players. The best part is that these works can also be purchased and placed in player housing. Purchases are made with Gilda Stars and the artist benefits from every one sold.

On July 18th, ArcheAge Fresh Start players will be primed for the next big update to the game. In Reign: Part 1, players will find the Dwarven and Warborn races added, and a new level cap to 55. The new races will feature their new starting areas and quest chains throughout the Airain Rock, Aubre Cradle and the Sunbite Wilds zones.

The ArcheAge team has sent word that the next phase of the ArcheAge: Legends Return fresh start servers will kick off on June 13th. Players on Legends Return will be able to take on the Serpentis raid, be able to claim new housing in the Golden Ruins and find that villains Meina and Glenn have returned to Auroria. Players will find new dungeons, raids and upgrades to enjoy as well as new daily quests and high level characters.

Trion Worlds has announced that ArcheAge 4.5: Legends Return is set to launch later tonight. Players will be able to check into two new progression servers as well as find Dragon Mounts, Shadow Invasions and much more. To celebrate tonight's launch, a brand new trailer has arrived for your viewing pleasure.

When ArcheAge "Legends Return" debuts next week, it will come with a new Shadow Invasion. These invasions will begin after any of the eight world bosses are defeated. Immediately after the world boss falls, new enemies will crop up that will require a minimum of ten players at 6K Equipment Score. Each Shadow Invasion has an underboss that is specific to that type of invasion and, once defeated, will drop a rare crafting material that can be made into a "valuable new trade pack".

The ArcheAge site has been updated with a quick look at the dragons that will be coming in the 4.5 update, Legends Return. Players will be able to fly and fight on or beside dragons of immense power once raised to an age where they become combat-ready. Players will be able to take to the skies for up to 5 minutes of true flight and can even fight from the backs of their dragons. These dragons are no pushovers either. Each comes with a number of skills that can change the face of battle.
