The latest ArcheAge update has been deployed which brings good news for players tired of the ages-long queue times. Players who are AFK at character selection or creation will now automatically be disconnected from servers, something sure to shorten wait times for players anxious to get into the game.

According to a new post on the ArcheAge site, patrons who have been less than happy with the game's playability since launch will have some compensation coming in the form of days added and the ability to an extra Founder's Pack should they choose to head to a new server. In addition, the team's customer service group has expanded and NA players are informed about Sunday's DDOS attack.

Most of this week, our Bill Murphy has been playing and enjoying the more organic facets of life in ArcheAge… when he hasn’t been battling the excessively long queue times to get into the game. In this week’s Review in Progress, we’ll hear a tale of tree thievery and some thoughts on the current server queue situation.

Trion CEO Scott Hartsman has taken to the ArcheAge forums to talk about the state of the game a mere two days after the game opened up for all players. In the letter, he discusses server capacity, the addition of more hardware, how the team is taking proactive steps agains AFKers, the need for more and better communication and how customer service will be taking it up a notch.

ArcheAge has its fair share of die-hard fans. It’s Tuesday, September 16th, 2014. The game servers should be live and free players should be flooding the authentication server queues. I emphasize “should” because the last few days haven’t been kind to Patrons trying to enjoy their Head Start. Despite having multiple MMO launches under its belt, Trion has managed to fall victim to sophomoric blunders.

Today marks the official free to play ArcheAge launch for all players. Founders enjoyed a somewhat frustrating head start experience over the past weekend but things seem to, at least prior to today's grand opening, have stabilized and all players are welcome to join in.

Normally, we’d wait until the official day of launch or soon after to begin our Review in Progress series. But as ArcheAge is a special case, what with this weekend’s DDOS attacks, over-too-soon land rush, and more, we thought we’d over you some serious thoughts on the game on the eve of its official launch in the US and EU. Read on for our initial thoughts on XLGAMES’ ArcheAge, brought to the US and EU by Trion Worlds.

Players who prepurchased the Founder's Packs can now access the four day early access program for ArcheAge. The game will launch for all other players on Tuesday, September 16th.

Community Manager Evan "Scapes" Berman just took to Reddit to let the community there know that Head Start is undergoing final rounds of network checks, and that founders will be allowed in "soon". No ETA, but hopefully we won't be waiting forever!

The folks at Trion are listening it appears. On the eve of Head Start for ArcheAge's North American and EU launch, some new patch notes have appeared . A number of tweaks is present, most notably the shift of Labor Potion cooldowns back to 12 hours. Read on for the full notes.

This isn’t going to make me popular, but I’m going to come out and say it just like Maccarthur says on our forums, I actually kind of like the labor point system. Before the pitchforks come out and people start claiming I’m pro “Pay 2 Win”, let me explain. While I think there could be some improvements to the system, I’m also fairly confident in my belief that the Labor system is better for the overall health of the economy and the game XLGAMES wants us to play.

ArcheAge fans who have not yet had the opportunity to score a closed beta code now have a chance to get into the game and explore thanks to the commencement of the open beta. The open beta is scheduled to run from now through Monday, September 8th with the head start program for Founders beginning on September 12th.

ArcheAge is not exactly unknown around these parts, but to much of the larger gaming world XLGAMES' and Trion's ArcheAge still has a lot to prove. And the time has finally come to do so. We met up with the team at PAX Prime in Seattle to discuss the forthcoming launch of the long-awaited sandbox MMORPG.

Trion Worlds has announced that ArcheAge will enter open beta which will run from September 4th through September 8th. Best of all, the game will hit official retail release on September 16th, with the Founder's head start kicking off on September 12th.
