Trion is under fire from some quarters of the ArcheAge community for gift packages sent out to former players in an effort to get them back into the game. The "Return to ArcheAge" gifts included several RNG boxes, potions and Library access scrolls. However, several random boxes also included the $100 "Secrets Pack" and the Cynafin Dolphin which gave its name to the kerfuffle now known as "Dolphingate".

Trion Worlds is ready to unleash Secrets of Ayanad on ArcheAge live servers. The update brings a level cap increase, the Diamond Shores location, the Ayanad Library and more into the game. To celebrate the big update, Trion has released a new trailer. Check it out!

The Secrets of Ayanad update is live! Ascend to level 55, explore the new Diamond Shores zone, and wield new abilities and Obsidian weapons as you battle to uncover the secrets of the ancient, multi-dimensional Ayanad Library.

Merv and Scapes from Trion Worlds sat down to show us all about the new Ayanad Library content update coming to the live servers on March 10. A huge sprawling new zone with new housing, a massive public PVE dungeon, a level cap increase to 55 with new skills, and tons of new items are all coming for free to AA.

The ArcheAge team has posted a developer diary to give players a look at obsidian weapons that will be arriving in game with the release of the Secrets of Ayanad update. Players will be able to craft their own obsidian weapons, the how-to of which will be revealed in a series of quests to get the first one made.

In an effort to give high-level players more areas in which to level, Trion Worlds will be introducing the Diamond Shores to ArcheAge as well as altering the level of monsters in other areas. The site has been updated with a preview of the Diamond Shores with a small bit of background and a fairly precise location with instructions how to get there.

Merv Lee Kwai has taken to the ArcheAge forums to give players a preview about what they can expect to see headed into the game in 2015. Many of the changes seek to address the most common concerns voiced by players over the months since launch. Among other things, the team will be working to balance the economy and rising inflation, making sure players receive better loot for harder work and more.

The latest patch notes for ArcheAge have been posted and give players a heads up that February is 'gearing up' month. A series of in-game events will launch that will help players increase skill levels and attain new gear in preparation for the level 55 level cap increase that will arrive in a future update.

ArcheAge's Loyalty Store is that much richer this week, thanks to the addition of the Rumbling Archeum Tree Saplings, which can be harvested for Archeum Crystals (and are more likely to become Thunderstruck), and the Sloth Glider, which may be the best item made for any game.

ArcheAge players have a lot to look forward to with the December update as the Red Dragons will be making a return to Erenor. The ArcheAge site has a short lore perspective on the dragons' return that is sure to pique interest in the next update.
