Arcfall Articles
The Arcfall team has sent out a new trailer to shine the spotlight on recent changes from a top-down perspective to a "full 3D" perspective. The video showcases the latest pre-alpha build that is free to play for anyone who would like to get involved in testing the game. In addition, the most recent update included both the non-instanced housing and farming systems.
"In a Massively Multiplayer World where you can fight, craft, explore and live, Arcfall offers a game style that captures old school RPG games with modern quality. Emerge yourself in a world where you can craft your own weapons and armor. Own your own house and fill it with furniture that enhances your character. Hire merchants to sell your goods to other players making Arcfall a pure player driven economy."
Beginning April 6th, Arcfall will be going free to play. The decision was made "because it already has an item store" and developers promise that the core design will not be changing. Those who purchased the game prior to April 6th will be gifted 400 Arcfall coins (~ $30) that can be used in the shop. Founder's Packs are also available from $40 to $200, each with a series of in-game items and perks.
The Arcfall site has been updated with a note to let players know that the addition of PvP is being delayed until the August 25th update. In addition, the taming / mount system will be included along with animal farming, guilds, castle plots / construction, a full world map, swimming, new abilities, a new loot system, new mob types, new crafting recipes, fast travel and player-owned vendors.
This week we are looking at Arcfall, the old school style MMORPG which brings an online world into the current times. Similar in scope to Ultima Online, this game offers players a fresh take on the sandbox exploration game with fighting, crafting, and housing to fill out the menu for players.
