The APB Reloaded team has let us know that the boxed version of APB: Reloaded is now available at Best Buy. Folks picking up APB:R from Best Buy will receive $50 worth of in-game perks.


3 Million Registered Users

GamersFirst has announced that over three million players have registered to play APB: Reloaded. According to the press release, the milestone was passed after APB:R was released on Steam. GamersFirst anticipates that the number will rise when a special boxed version hits store shelves that sells with pretty amazing incentives.

GamersFirst has announced that APB: Reloaded has arrived on sTeam for players to download and enjoy. The Steam version allows players to take part in the San Paro activities and keep their game clients updated through Valve's game host.

GamersFirst CEO Bjorn Book Larsson is the subject of a comprehensive new interview at GamesIndustry.biz. In it, Larsson talks about the process the company went through to "save APB" after it went into receivership last year.


Cheaters Put On Notice in Major Crackdown

The APB Reloaded blog has been updated with a post about how the team has been watching and dealing with cheaters in the game. It appears that many accounts have been banned and the team is claiming victory over the three main "cheatmakers".


Close to Final Live Launch

The APB Reloaded blog has been updated with information spanning the past four weeks. Topics include the team's visit to Gamescom last month and the news that the team is getting "very close" to a final live launch of the game which is currently in open beta.


IGS Deal Signed for North American Distribution

GamersFirst has announced a deal with retail distributor, IGS, to bring APB Reloaded to North America. The purchase price has been announced as $29.99 with over $50 worth of in-game items, including a permanent in-game high-performance vehicle, a permanent in-game weapon and 30 days of premium access that provides increased cash rewards, reputation gains and a 20 percent in-store discount.


Sever Side Lag Solved, Threat Level Revised

The APB Reloaded blog has been updated with a new post detailing the latest client updates. Among the notable inclusions in the post is the news that the pesky server-side lag issue has been resolved. Also, the matchmaking system has been tweaked and players have been warned that, due to some awesome mathematical data crunching, their threat levels may be different.


Open Beta 2 Has Landed

Last Thursday, APB: Reloaded entered into its second Open Beta Test, which will usher in some more changes to the F2P title from Reloaded Productions, including changes to the mission system, matchmaking, skill rating, threat levels and more.


Test, Kill, and Win a Joker RFP-9

APB Reloaded and Reloaded Productions are holding a stress-test all weekend long. Any player who logs in to give the game a hearty stressing and who also kills 100 other players will win a permanent Joker RFP-9 pistol. Another one hundred players will receive a special cowboy hat for their avatars.
