BioWare's Managing Director Casey Hudson has created a new blog on the company's official site to provide readers with news and information about Anthem and "the games that will follow". In this inaugural post, Hudson provides a bit of his background as well as a look ahead at Anthem and how the studio is working very hard to make it "unlike anything you've ever played, but if [done] right, it will feel distinctly BioWare".

Drew Karpyshyn Leaves BioWare Again & Heads to Fogbank - Anthem News

Drew Karpyshyn has left BioWare for the second time after rejoining the studio in 2016 and revealing he was working on Anthem in mid-2017. He had previously left BW in 2012 to "pursue his own projects". Karpyshyn will be working on "a number of other projects, including more original novels, an original sci-fi graphic novel I'm co-creating, and freelance gaming work". He has also revealed he's "officially working with Fogbank Entertainment & FoxNet Games", but has little more to say about it.

Earlier today, EA told the Wall Street Journal that BioWare's Anthem will be coming out in early 2019. EA's Blake Jorgensen told the WSJ, "It's not a delay. People are trying to create a story." However, from the start, BioWare and EA said that Anthem would be released in fall 2018. If that's not a delay, we don't know what is.

Last week it came to light that EA had filed a patent for a matchmaking algorithm to "dramatically increase the odds for players to purchase microtransaction items". Fans of BioWare's upcoming Anthem expressed concern that this algorithm would be included when the game is released, supposedly later in 2018. However, Technical Design Director Brenon Holmes took to Reddit in a brief post to disabuse fans of that notion.
