Iron Galaxy Studios, the team behind games like Killer Instinct, ports of Skyrim to the Switch, and supportive roles on games like Diablo III, has pointed to a new Melee Combat IP. The team at Iron Galaxy Studios has also ushered in a new Co-CEO, Chelsea Blasko, who will work alongside Adam Boyes, and welcomed former Bungie Communications Director, David “DeeJ” Dague to the team.
The name of the new multiplayer melee combat IP has yet to be released, but the game will be slated for both PC and consoles. With previous experience in the melee battling market with Killer Instinct, Iron Galaxy Studios has proven that they have the chops to make a compelling fighter, but is it possible there may be more to look forward to in the upcoming IP? Only time will tell. Dague’s previous work at Bungie will be helpful as he’s tasked with heading up a new community team that will undoubtedly play a big part in bringing together a solid following for Iron Galaxy’s upcoming game.
For now, though, the new Co-CEO Chelsea Blasko had this to say about how Iron Galaxy Studios has grown despite several hurdles:
Despite the myriad challenges presented by the pandemic, Iron Galaxy continues to grow. The studio has expanded from 140 to more than 175 people this year. Our supportive work-from-home culture ensures our staff feels cared for and valued as individuals. Our focus on creativity, communication, diversity, and inclusion has helped us attract and retain the best talent in the business.
We may not know what’s coming down the pipe from Iron Galaxy Studios just yet, but when we do, we’ll be sure to pass the word along.
