Bethesda is enjoying a major milestone for the studio, as their flagship series, The Elder Scrolls, turns thirty. While the team looked back on the franchise through the years, it also teased more about its future as part of today’s celebration.

Today is the day we all get to celebrate thirty years with a series that many have enjoyed over the years. The Elder Scrolls Arena was the start of it all, which was released back in 1994, and since then, the franchise has grown stronger by the day. Of course, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim being one of the most known and most moddable throughout the years, there are plenty more on the Elder Scrolls roster that are already here and yet to come, including The Elder Scrolls Online which has done some serious numbers

We know that Elder Scrolls VI is coming, as it went into pre-production back in 2018, then finally went into the active development phase in 2023 after Starfield made its debut. In the tweet today, we learned that Bethesda has made it clear they are still working on Elder Scrolls VI by stating,

“Last but not least, yes, we are in development on the next chapter, The Elder Scrolls VI. Even now, returning to Tamriel and playing early builds has filled us with joy, excitement and promise of adventure.”

Though this wasn’t a huge update, this is a step forward for fans of the franchise who can’t wait to get their hands on some new Elder Scrolls content. Though there is no set release date for the next chapter as of yet, it is said it could be coming as early as 2026, but only time will tell.
