An upcoming Dune: Awakening Direct, Funcom’s extended developer update series for the MMORPG, will be hosted on June 20th with more details about the anticipated story and character system,
“The second show will be hosted by Soe Gschwind where we'll be going over the alternate timeline of Dune: Awakening revealed at Summer Game Fest and other topics,” the YouTube description reads, promising more details to be unveiled on other social media accounts.
So far, Funcom has delivered on the promise. On Instagram, there’s presently an image with three topics unveiled: “Digging Into the Alternate History,” “Narrative and Spirituality,” and “Character Creation.”
The first of these themes expands on the trailer that debuted at the Summer Game Fest, in which Paul Atredes treads over the alternate points from which the story of Dune could have diverged.
Other than this, we’ve gotten minimal story about the MMORPG’s narrative, nor have we gotten a release date. We have, however, gotten hands-on a few times, including with a guided PAX East Demo.
