The folks over at Funcom and Age of Conan recently attended Dragoncon, and they have reported back on their successful showing at the event.
We can be a bit more casual, talk to fans, have a good time, and say, "Hey, everyone wants to see the Demonologist, let's bring it out next round." Most importantly, we're able to get the game into the hands of regular fans and players. Anyone who made it to Atlanta and got a convention badge could play, and judging by the reports on the forums and all the people we ran into, quite a lot of you did.
Highlights of the weekend include:
Being offered a child for a beta key. Yes, the baby was at the booth. Yes, we do have a picture.
Hearing someone's phone click open and them saying, "Hey, I'm gonna be late. I have to check out this Conan game." This happened several times a day, and it was awesome every single time.
Our Age of Conan presentation was so popular that we not only had to split it up to get more people through, we were told the cops were called at one point to contain some of the madness in the hall. Even though we ran through two sessions, we still didn't get everyone who wanted to see the game through. The turnout was nothing short of incredible, and we would like to thank you all for coming out.
