Teppy (Pharaoh) from the eGenesis team recently addressed the fans of A Tale in the Desert II.  In this letter he tells about future plans as well as mention of a free weekend!  Read it below:

Citizens of Egypt,

As I write this, we're about to reach the 6-month mark of A Tale in the Desert II. It's been way too long since I've gotten a newsletter out, and so I though I'd take this opportunity to do just that.

First off, we have probably the biggest technology release yet, planned for this weekend. Seven different techs, along with the Test of Festivals. For this Tale, everything needed for all 7 Festivals will be released at once, and all of Egypt will be able to take part in the research.

As many of you have heard, we recently announced our second game, which we're doing with author Orson Scott Card. The Tales of Alvin Maker will take place in "an America that might have been", one where folk magic works, and like A Tale in the Desert, your impact on the world is real. The first book in the series is "Seventh Son", and I promise that you will find it a true masterpiece. I can't express how thrilled I am to be heading up this project.

If you'd like to stop by and say hello to some old friends this weekend, do join us for the festivities. All accounts will be open, for free, for the whole weekend.

I'll be out in San Francisco all of next week for the Game Developers Conference. I know that many fellow game developers subscribe to this list, so if you'd like to hear about our design methodology, plan to attend my lecture "Building the Impossible", on Friday 4:00PM - 5:00PM. I'll also be a panelist at Experimental Gameplay Workshop on Thursday, starting at 4:00PM.

On the Nile,
Teppy (Pharaoh)
and the rest of the eGenesis crew
