The Wayback Machine Peeks Into WoW's Past

If you haven't tooled around Wayback Machine, you're missing something fun and interesting. As they say, nothing posted on the web ever dies. As we surfed around earlier, we slapped WorldofWarcraft.com into the machine and looked up the very first time anything about WoW was posted to the world, this time on October 13, 2001.

While a lot of the links are broken yet, it's fun to see what was important almost two decades ago: Wallpapers to "dress up your desktop World of Warcraft style" and how Computer Gaming World "features a 10 page special on World of Warcraft with exclusive screenshots, information and more". You can click a couple of the links to find first screens and information about WoW's features and so forth.

I don't know about you, but I remember when a single screenshot released once a month was enough for weeks of happy contemplation.

At any rate, visit WoW's past here and check out the link above to put in your old favorite site(s) to see how the world has changed "since then".
