The latest Secret World director's letter has been published on the official site. In it, Joel Bylos goes into detail about the game's first year and all that has been accomplished during that time. In addition, Bylos reveals the special first anniversary event, Guardians of Gaia, that will be unleashed on July 3rd.
Funcom's Joel Bylos has published the latest Game Director's Letter on The Secret World's site. In it, he reveals that Issue 7 will be making its debut in a few weeks and drops some interesting hints about Issue 8 and an attack on Agartha itself.
The Secret World has been updated with the latest patch. Included in this update is the new 'lair raid' called The Island of Stillborn Stars. The raid takes ten players and the defeat of several mini-bosses on the way to the final boss. Check out the Issue 6 preview for a visual look.
Not long ago, The Secret World development team began a Twitter experiment that tied into TSW's roleplaying community. Over the course of several weeks, the team disseminated snippets of information that the community used to fuel RP activities.
The latest update to The Secret World has gone live. Called The Last Train to Cairo, the update features a bunch of new quests, a new zone and a decidedly Indiana Jones-esque look. Players will automatically download the update on logging in.
The Secret World's blog has been updated with new information about forthcoming changes in the PvP system. A new feature will be introduced called "Battle Ranks" that will reward PvP-specific experience for player kills. When the experience bar fills, players will be rewarded with "Distinction of the Council" currency which can be spent on PvP rewards.

The update will feature new main and side quests and a new weapon, the whip. Lastly, the final battle will take place atop a speeding train. If that doesn't scream Indiana Jones, nothing does!
Funcom has announced a new contest for The Secret World's aspiring composers. Players are invited to create and submit a piece of music either as a soloist or as part of a group. If chosen, the music will be incorporated into The Secret World.
As part of Funcom's ongoing restructuring, the company's Beijing studio will be closing. The studio was primarily responsible for art and animation for The Secret World. According to Gamasutra, these assets will now be produced by the Funcom studio located in North Carolina, USA.
The latest Funcom financial report is out and contains some interesting tidbits of information, including the note that player activity in The Secret World is up 400% since last month's relaunch as a 'buy to play' game. Funcom is also reporting that over 70,000 copies of TSW have been sold since the relaunch.
