Star Trek Online executive producer Dan Stahl has penned the latest State of the Game letter on the official site. The post takes a look at Season 2: Ancient Enemies and the changes put in place. Stahl goes on to detail some of what will be coming in the next six months or so.

The first thing Stahl does is show off a partial list of features and updates added to STO in the game's first six months. It's a pretty impressive list including things like special task forces, new and updated missions, new emotes, veteran rewards and about 30 others.

Next Stahl details a dozen of the bigger features and updates that will be included in Season 2: Ancient Enemies: New non-combat missions, level 51 ships, Klingon PvE episodes and more. Stahl also talks about the upcoming Weekly Series on track to begin in August. The Weekly Series are small missions around a short story.  It appears that these are 'scale-able' as any player of any level will be able to partake.

Lastly, Stahl takes a look at the next six months:

This includes and is not limited to things like ...

  • Addressing issues with ground combat.
  • Making rewards more interesting.
  • Ensuring there are more ship options for both factions.
  • Fixing long-standing bugs in powers, ships, missions and PvP.
  • Rethinking exploration.
  • Making Memory Alpha more useful.

Read all of Stahl's thoughts on the Star Trek Online site.
