Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have announced that Star Trek Online will celebrating its seventh anniversary with the launch of Season 12 - Reckoning on January 26th for PC players and on for consoles and a later date. The game's anniversary will be packed with give aways, mini-games, a pair of new space queues, a new R&D category and a special episode called "Of Signs & Portents".
Star Trek Online will be bringing another iconic character into the game when General Rodek portrayed by Tony Todd will join the game. The volatile brother of Worf, Rodek will be shown in a younger form as he appeared in The Next Generation and as an older person as in Deep Space 9.
Star Trek Online players taking part on the Tribble test server have uncovered what appears to be a new map sector filled with new locations such as Fesarius, Argus, Draconis and others. What this portends for a future update remains unknown, though the STO team has promised lots of new content for 2017.

Cryptic Studios has announced that the latest Star Trek Online: Agents of Yesterday story arc has launched. Called "Artifacts", the new episode is a long-term one that will run into 2017 and features new bridge officers, weapons, lighting tech and an Original-Series Starbase Fleet Holding.
Star Trek Online's latest expansion, Agents of Yesterday, will be growing a bit larger on October 25th with the deployment of the Artifacts content update. Artifacts will see players embark on a completely new story arc that will last through the end of 2017. Players will find teh Lukari, a species first introduced in Season 11.

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have annouced that the console version of Star Trek Online is now in full live release. XBox One and PlayStation 4 players can access the game through the Legacy of Romulus and the Delta Rising expansions.
