Star Trek Online Battle For Qo'nos Starts Next Week, the Last Chance for Infinity Promotions

Star Trek Online's next special event will be arriving next week in advance of the next content release. The Battle For Qo'nos event runs from November 16th-December 7th for PC and will begin on consoles a little later. 


Case Dismissed

Shacknews is reporting that the lawsuit filed against Perpetual Entertainment by Kohnke Entertainment has been resolved out of court. As a result, the case against the former STO development studio have been dropped.


P2 Lays Off Employees

WarCry is reporting that P2, formerly Perpetual Entertainment and developer of the defunct Gods and Heroes and Star Trek Online, will be laying off members of the Star Trek Online Team.


The Future of Star Trek Online

The future of the upcoming MMORPG Star Trek Online has been in question in many minds ever since the "indefinite hold" that was placed on Gods & Heroes. Yesterday, it was reported that P2 had lost the license and that it would be taken up by another company. P2 No Longer STO Developer

WarCry is reporting that Star Trek Online will no longer be developed by P2 Entertainment. The Star Trek Online license and content, but not the code, has passed on to another un-named developer in the San Francisco area. While P2 remains in business, and plan to focus their efforts on their Perpetual Platform and on casual games. It is unclear at this time what this means for Star Trek Online's development and release schedule.


Kohnke Sues Perpetual

Kohnke Communications, a public relations firm which represents a number of MMO developers, is suing Perpetual Entertainment for breach of contract, several counts of fraud, and transferring assets, including Star Trek Online, to a new company before liquidating their assets. The suit also claims that Gods and Heroes was canceled so that PE could avoid payments owed to Kohnke on the game's launch. DevLog 5.0

The official site for Perpetual Entertainment's Star Trek Online has published a new DevLog titled "Interactions in Action". Along with the log is a new in-game screen.


Daron Stinnett Clarifies STO Rumors

Star Trek Online Executive Producer Daron Stinnett has made a few posts on the StarTrek-Online.net forums, clearing up recent rumors about Star Trek Online being made for casual non-trekkie gamers, and about the game using a pay-real-world-cash-for-in-game-items business model. It turns out that the rumors started when an internal conversation about the game's business model, which has not been finalized, was leaked and then taken out of context as fact.
